21 A Father and Son Reunited

The woman refused to believe it. “Hui is the child my husband brought home; how could he be yours...”
“Young Er is also mine,” Rokumei Tsukizuki interrupted her firmly. “You might find it unfair, but that’s not something I consider. I will take him back.”
The woman opened her mouth, her lips trembling, and after a long pause, she finally managed to say, “Are you crazy?”
Even Conan, standing nearby, sensed something was off. “Wouldn’t it be better to speak more gently…” He tried to bring out a trump card: “Wouldn’t that scare Hui?”
At these words, Rokumei Tsukizuki looked at Hui, who was snapping out of his daze. Hui’s bright green eyes, a miniature version of Young Er’s, met his with resistance. “You’re lying. There’s no way I could be your child—”
A hum.
Rokumei Tsukizuki suddenly appeared before him, crouched down, and interrupted his protest with an embrace.
The woman and Tsumi were so stunned by this move that they were left speechless. “This?”
“Sorry, Hui. I originally intended for Young Er to reveal this to you after we reunited, but I didn’t expect him to be so reckless…”
Rokumei Tsukizuki looked at the child, whose entire being radiated unease, and a gentle smile appeared on his face. He spoke to Fushiguro Hui, “Hui, close your eyes. I will tell you the truth.”
His voice was like magic, soothing Hui’s restless heart. Hui responded with a soft hum and closed his eyes.
In the next instant, Rokumei felt warmth on his forehead. When he realized the boy had pressed his forehead against his, a flood of unfamiliar yet strangely familiar images appeared before his eyes—
Two people reluctant to part on a weekday morning, yet embracing through the long night;
Two people nervous before the doctor, then overjoyed upon learning of the life growing inside;
Two people preparing for a child, caring for each other meticulously, discussing the child’s name to mean “blessing”;
And when he left, the once obedient and gentle man turning sullen and silent, agreeing only after Rokumei’s repeated pleas to take good care of the child...
All this happened after Rokumei Tsukizuki successfully brought Young Er back home.
Fushiguro Hui instantly recognized the scarred man as his irresponsible father, but he could hardly believe the identity of the other, the young man whose kindness radiated from his very bones.
Such a joyous surprise was almost too grand, making one doubt if it was an absurd mirage that would shatter upon touch.
Yet, through this spiritual sympathy, Rokumei Tsukizuki clearly sensed what Hui thought, which only deepened his sympathy. His voice grew even gentler: “Hui, my child, you were born from the sincere love between me and your father.”
His words entered directly into Hui’s consciousness through spiritual transmission.
After the initial shock, Hui instinctively wanted to retort: “He doesn’t love me...”
“Young Er may not be a perfect father, but his feelings for you are genuine. Your name was chosen by him—Hui, meaning blessing—because he believed your birth was a blessing I gave him. As for him now…”
Rokumei paused briefly, then continued, “It’s my fault. Before awakening my spiritual sight, I selfishly took him away, which later led to him cruelly abandoning you…”
“Hui, don’t be too hard on Young Er. He’s been stuck in a mire for too long, with no one to pull him out. Covered in mud, he chose to stay away awkwardly so you could grow up clean. In this world, there aren’t many who truly love him.”
As he spoke, everything that had happened since his rebirth, including his past, was revealed before Hui’s eyes.
With solemnity, Rokumei addressed Hui’s timid wish to avoid this forbidden topic: “Hui, next, I will guide you with my spiritual awareness into the inheritance space of my clan. You will find the answers you seek, alright?”
“What should I do?”
Hui nodded blankly.
“Good child, relax your mind and let my spiritual awareness enter.”
Following his instructions, Hui complied. The continuity of their bloodline created a shared origin, allowing Rokumei to easily disperse a thread of his spiritual awareness into Hui’s consciousness, like rivers converging.
He quickly located the hidden inheritance space deep within Hui’s mind and gently led him inside.
Sensing the pure bloodline, a gate storing the clan’s legacy opened before Hui, revealing countless secret techniques and teachings.
Hui seemed overwhelmed, remaining silent for a long time, but only Rokumei knew he was hesitating at the threshold of happiness, afraid even to approach.
He should have been a child thriving in joy...

“This is the clan’s secret inheritance, accessible only to those with our bloodline. Hui, you are the child of both me and Young Er.”
Suppressing his pain, Rokumei spoke to Fushiguro Hui in a gentle yet firm tone: “Father is back and will never leave again. Our family will never be separated. Father promises you that, alright?”
Hui opened his eyes to see Rokumei extending his pinky finger, smiling warmly. “Let’s pinky swear, okay?”
The boy’s face was filled with sincere tenderness and affection, bridging the deep chasm once standing between him and Hui.
He recalled yesterday, when the boy flew into a rage just because he saw him eating fast food. So it was care, after all.
Hui believed the boy’s words. After all, who but his true family would go to such lengths to comfort someone as insignificant as himself?
Looking at the tender face waiting for his answer—his own flesh and blood—Hui hesitated but bravely reached out his small hand, grasping Rokumei’s finger.
“Okay, we pinky swear.”
Rokumei added, “For a hundred—no, ten thousand years, no changing.”
“Ten thousand years no changing.”
“Good boy.”
After making the promise, Rokumei pulled Hui into his arms. Hui’s body stiffened.
“Don’t be afraid. Father is here; no one can hurt you.”
Hearing this, Hui relaxed his tense back and tentatively wrapped his arms around the boy’s neck.
“I believe…”
“Good child.” Feeling his son’s slender frame beneath his palm, Rokumei affectionately patted Hui’s back. “Once Father settles things here, I’ll take you home and cook you something delicious.”
Everyone present heard these words clearly, as Rokumei did not use spiritual communication.
The first to react was Hui, who had just recognized him: “Home?”
Then Fushiguro Tsumi asked, “Where are you taking Hui?”
Conan added, “Would it be better not to leave so abruptly?”
The woman surnamed Fushiguro reacted fiercely: “I won’t allow it! He’s my stepson! I won’t let you take him away!”
“Yes, the house in Nishikigai Town—I want to rebuild it. Hui will live there with Father and Young Er, alright?”
Hui hesitated. “But Tsumi…”
Rokumei’s gaze shifted to Tsumi. Seeing the young girl bravely raising her hand to block him, satisfaction gleamed in his eyes. “Your name is Tsumi, right? Hui appreciates your care and truly likes you as his sister. Both Young Er and I welcome you to come visit anytime.”
“I don’t…”
“Hm? There’s something odd about your destiny…”
Before Tsumi could respond, Rokumei suddenly raised his hand and pressed a finger to her forehead. His eyebrows rose slightly.
The Fushiguro woman was very uneasy about this, but dared not approach due to Rokumei’s mysterious methods. She asked sternly, “What do you intend to do to Tsumi?”
Hui looked on with concern. “Tsumi…”
Soon, Rokumei withdrew his hand, his expression strange. Under their watchful eyes, he revealed the truth: “I saw a death calamity in her fate. After thoroughly examining her body, I found an anchor point, as if someone is targeting her.”
The Fushiguro woman’s first reaction was disbelief. “What nonsense are you spouting? Do you think I’d believe your supernatural tricks?”
Hui grew anxious.
“Tsumi…”
Rokumei gently patted his son’s back. “Since she is Hui’s sister, how could Father stand by and do nothing?”
“But this mark looks like a curse. I can’t think of a proper way to remove it right now. Well, sometimes the simplest path is the best.”

Before the Fushiguro woman could respond, Rokumei raised his hand again and, drawing from countless cosmic laws, wiped the mark away with a thunderous strike—
A hum.
Tsumi trembled and nearly lost her balance. Conan, watching closely, steadied her.
Fushiguro woman rushed forward to support her daughter, demanding, “What happened? Did you do something to my daughter?”
Tsumi answered, “Mom, I’m fine…” She held her chest and said oddly, “I feel… much better here.”
Meanwhile, deep in a remote mountain forest, the millennium-old brainvine spat out blood and cried out in disbelief: “The mark? Completely gone? Ha?! My plan was discovered? No way! Who could be so powerful?”
While Brainvine doubted reality, Rokumei Tsukizuki at the Fushiguro residence gently patted Tsumi’s head and said, “This is my gift to you.”
A magnificent golden flame blossomed again in his palm, but this time the warmth was much gentler. He split off a tiny thread of it, shaped it with spiritual energy, then summoned a piece of brocade, cutting it into a talisman and presenting it to Tsumi.
“This contains part of my spiritual energy. Wear it, and it will protect you.”
Tsumi accepted it in surprise, about to thank him, but her mother wanted to refuse. Rokumei stopped her: “Madam Fushiguro, I also have a gift for you.”
Still wary, she asked, “What gift?”
“Look at your phone.”
Madam Fushiguro looked at her phone blankly just as a message notification sounded: “Your account has been credited with 50,000,000 yen.”
“Fifty million yen?”
Rokumei explained, “Consider it payment for raising the child these past five years. Also…” He turned to Tsumi. “Since today was rushed and preparations were incomplete, I will issue a separate card for Tsumi.”
Tsumi instinctively wanted to refuse, but Rokumei interrupted: “Girls should be good to themselves. After I set the house right, Tsumi, come find Hui and play, okay?”
Tsumi was stunned. “Are you really taking Hui away?”
“Yes. We’ve stayed out too long today. Some things need to be arranged quickly and properly.” Rokumei looked down at his son in his arms. “Hui, let’s go home with Father for now, alright?”
Hui instinctively wanted to nod but then realized something. He looked at Madam Fushiguro and opened his mouth, but she was staring blankly at the message on her phone, not responding.
Hui sighed quietly and nodded.
“Good.”
Rokumei didn’t rush to leave. He raised his hand, enveloping the whole room in spiritual energy. Several documents flew into his hand.
After checking them, confirming Hui’s and Young Er’s identities, he stored them away in his consciousness.
Before leaving, he turned to Madam Fushiguro: “Madam, if Young Er returns, please tell him to come back immediately. I’m waiting at home to settle accounts with him. Thank you.”
With that, Rokumei tore open a space, carrying Hui in his arms and holding Conan’s hand, stepping out and vanishing from the room.
Tsumi looked uncertain. “Mom? Is he really Hui’s father?”
Madam Fushiguro didn’t know how to explain. At that moment, a screech of brakes sounded outside—
Young Er Fushiguro jumped from the speeding GTR, pulling a weapon from his dog’s mouth while answering a call. The caller was from the bank: “Another 50 million yen missing? Huh? If you think this transaction is suspicious, why did you approve it? So you’re just calling to tell me the money’s gone? Get lost!”
“I’ll come find your manager myself later and have a chat. Tell him not to sleep too soundly tonight!” Seeing Koshi Shigure’s figure, he hung up hastily. “Is the person inside still there? Did you get a good look?”
Koshi Shigure’s face was strange. “Uh, if I’m not mistaken, that’s the high school boy you asked me to check on yesterday? Fushiguro, are you really not involved? Otherwise, why would he chase after you at your home?”
“I told you, no relation. Even if there were, he won’t give that brat a single cent! No way! Unless the brat’s real father comes back from the dead, then maybe.”
