Chapter Eighteen: The President Got Jealous!

Xu Xu stared at Huo Yunzhe in disbelief.
“First of all, I’m not making a scene,” Xu Xu felt she had to make things clear to Huo Yunzhe today.
So that this brainless man wouldn’t harbor any illusions and endlessly pester her!
“Secondly, you’ve gone way too far yourself. Don’t you have any sense of that?”
Xu Xu’s eyes blazed fiercely as she stepped closer to him. Huo Yunzhe was intimidated by her aura and involuntarily took a step back.
“I…”
“You think you’re just late because something held you up, but you never felt you crossed the line! That means you don’t care about me at all! It means you’re utterly selfish!”
“I didn’t, I just…”
“You’re still making excuses for yourself!” Xu Xu sneered and stepped forward again, forcing Huo Yunzhe to retreat further.
“Besides, I don’t believe you don’t know how Xu Yaru feels about you! Even so, you keep getting closer to her!”
“That’s because…”
“What, you want to say you treat her like a sister?” Xu Xu cut him off directly, stepping forward once more, causing Huo Yunzhe to stumble backward repeatedly.
“Huo Yunzhe, we’re all adults here. Don’t take me for a fool!” Xu Xu crossed her arms and smiled disdainfully. “I gave you chances, but you never cherished them! That means I never meant much to you!”
Taking a deep breath, Xu Xu continued, “Do you think I proposed on the spot at the wedding to get revenge on you?”
“Isn’t that true?” Huo Yunzhe clung to the last straw. “You just wanted to make me jealous!”
“Who cares what you think?” Xu Xu rolled her eyes. “I’ve already seen what kind of person you really are, so I won’t humbly beg for a love that’s not mine.”
Her words stabbed sharply at Huo Yunzhe’s heart, leaving him speechless.
“So don’t come looking for me anymore. My current husband treats me well.”
Mentioning Huo Hanshen, Xu Xu’s expression softened considerably, a faint smile appearing at the corner of her lips.
“He respects me, cares for me, and never leaves me waiting alone… Huo Yunzhe, you can’t compare to him.”
Huo Yunzhe clenched his fists involuntarily.
He thought Xu Xu would wait for him forever, but now…
He felt like he was truly about to lose her.
Panicking, Huo Yunzhe softened his tone, “Xu Xu, will you forgive me just this once? After all these years together, if you forgive me, I’ll do anything!”
Xu Xu only took a step back indifferently in response.
“Huo Yunzhe, don’t you understand yet?”
Huo Yunzhe paused slightly. “Understand what…”
“I don’t love you anymore.” Xu Xu looked calmly into his eyes, once full of love but now utterly cold. “I don’t love you, so I don’t care about you, and there is no such thing as forgiveness or not.”

Leaving those words behind, Xu Xu walked straight past Huo Yunzhe and out the door.
She moved decisively, without hesitation or lingering.
Huo Yunzhe stared blankly at her departing figure, the last shred of hope in his heart snapping.
It seemed… he was really going to lose her!
No! He wasn’t willing! He refused to accept it!
With that thought, Huo Yunzhe instinctively wanted to chase after Xu Xu.
But just as he stepped forward, a hand grabbed him tightly!
“Brother Yunzhe…”
Xu Yaru clung to Huo Yunzhe’s arm, then leaned against him.
This move had always worked on Huo Yunzhe, and Xu Yaru believed it would keep him by her side again.
“Yaru, go find a staff member to take you to the hospital. I still have some things to handle…”
Huo Yunzhe spoke distractedly, pulling her hand away and preparing to go after Xu Xu.
“Brother Yunzhe…”
Seeing her hand empty, Xu Yaru panicked.
How could this be?!
How could Huo Yunzhe abandon her for that wretched Xu Xu?!
She absolutely could not let go of Huo Yunzhe!
She couldn’t let him leave!
“Wait!” Xu Yaru grabbed Huo Yunzhe again, staring intently as she spoke slowly and clearly, “Brother Yunzhe, my period is already a week late, and for the past two days… I’ve felt some dull pain in my abdomen.”
Huo Yunzhe looked at her, shocked. “Yaru, you…”
“Brother Yunzhe, I’m so scared.” Xu Yaru blinked with tears in her eyes and threw herself into Huo Yunzhe’s arms.
Struggle and conflict flashed across Huo Yunzhe’s face, but in the end, he slowly wrapped his arms around Xu Yaru.
…
Standing at the door, Xu Xu was chilled by the wind and suddenly remembered Huo Hanshen was still inside.
She took out her phone and sent him a message, saying she was waiting for him outside.
The Royal Banquet was located in the busiest part of the city, surrounded by numerous commercial streets.
It wasn’t too late yet, so many people were still out shopping.

Xu Xu stood by the door, bored, watching the bustling street not far away. There were many affectionate couples—some holding hands, others feeding each other.
Seeing this scene, Xu Xu couldn’t help but think of herself and Huo Yunzhe—though they had been together for many years, Huo Yunzhe never showed any excessive affection in public.
He always claimed it was because they weren’t ordinary people, that as upper-class elites, every word and action had to be measured.
Xu Xu smiled wryly to herself.
“It wasn’t about appearances; it was just that he didn’t love me that much…”
She shook her head gently.
From this, it seemed Huo Yunzhe never truly loved her.
Now, his attempts to win her back were likely only because he was used to her being there.
The irony was that she had been so foolish all these years, only now finally waking up.
She really had been… too naive.
Just as she was sinking into this sadness, a coat suddenly draped over her shoulders, dispelling some of the chill.
Xu Xu was momentarily startled and turned her head to see Huo Hanshen looking at her with a gentle smile.
He took her hand in his, covering her slightly cold fingertips with his.
“Why aren’t you waiting inside? It’s so windy out here. Aren’t you cold?”
His tender voice whispered in her ear, his eyes as soft as water.
His gentleness and care enveloped her chilled heart, and Xu Xu suddenly felt a sense of relief.
“I’m okay, not too cold.”
“Still, it’s a bit chilly.” Huo Hanshen nodded and took her hand, leading her toward the car. “Come on, let’s go home.”
After getting in, Huo Hanshen quickly started the car, while Xu Xu in the passenger seat couldn’t help but keep watching him.
The more she looked, the more distracted she became.
If only she had met Huo Hanshen sooner…
“Madam, if you keep looking at me like that, I might lose control.”
The man’s voice, laced with a smile, sounded inside the car, snapping Xu Xu back to reality.
“Huh?”
“I might do something… dangerous.”
