Chapter 53: Temporary Separation

The next morning, when Huo Hanshen woke up, Xu Xu was still fast asleep. He gently slipped his arm out from beneath her neck, changed his clothes, and then planted a kiss on her forehead.

Leaving the villa, Huo Hanshen called his assistant while driving.

“...President, we've confirmed that person did appear in Haishi City and is likely still there.”

Huo Hanshen’s eyes darkened. “Notify all exits of Haishi City. Under no circumstances let him escape.”

“Yes, sir.”

When Xu Xu finally woke, it was nearly noon. She stretched lazily, lingered in bed a while longer, then yawned as she got up.

Since she didn’t need to work today, she decided to rest properly for a couple of days and contemplate her future career plans.

Returning to the Xu Corporation was definitely out of the question. Perhaps it was time to seriously consider going independent.

But first, she needed to recruit some staff and secure sufficient funding.

“A long and arduous road ahead,” she murmured.

Rubbing her hair, she noticed it was slightly oily, so she headed to the bathroom.

A few minutes later, drying her hair with a towel, she saw Huo Hanshen dressed in a suit, smiling warmly at her.

“Good morning, wife.”

Huo Hanshen stepped forward, took the towel from her hands, and expertly dried her hair.

“Hungry? I’ve made breakfast.”

“What’s there to be shy about with your own husband?”

That only made her more flustered. “I didn’t mean that—I just wanted to say I could use the hairdryer, it’ll be faster.”

Huo Hanshen was silent.

A minute later, Huo Hanshen was holding the hairdryer, drying Xu Xu’s hair, while she sat at the table contentedly eating breakfast.

The noon sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the entire dining room, and the atmosphere between them was extraordinarily harmonious.

But time would not pause in this moment...

“I might need to go back to Jing City for a while. Want to come with me?”

Huo Hanshen turned off the hairdryer and asked.

She wasn’t ready to meet his family yet.

This was too sudden!

Huo Hanshen wrapped his arms around her from behind, gently nuzzling into her soft hair.

Xu Xu blushed instantly, playfully slapping Huo Hanshen’s hand.

“I’m not rushing you back…”

After a little more affectionate teasing, Huo Hanshen finally let go reluctantly.

Xu Xu saw him off at the door, and before he got into the car, she took the initiative to kiss his cheek.

“Have a safe trip.”

“Going abroad? Looks like I was overthinking it.”
