"I left them information about Liuting Hall, telling them to go there and find those two scoundrels."

Hearing this, the old man surged with sudden strength. He pointed at Bai Weiwei and cursed, "Liuting Hall! How dare you! To send the parents of our benefactor to such a place! Are you even a descendant of the Bai family?"

Bai Weiwei, seeing this, dropped her pretense. "What of it? Are you still worried about that good-for-nothing, Grandfather?"

"He's nothing but a loser; what kind of trouble could he possibly stir up?"

"You! Oh, you!" The old man was livid, pointing a trembling finger at her. "How could you do this? How will the Bai family conduct itself now? And furthermore, do you truly believe your fiancé is just a loser?"

"Grandfather, rest easy. I’ve looked into it—his family are just scavengers. He's a complete waste of space. What could he possibly do?"

"Bai Weiwei! How did I raise you to be like this? Do you really think the other party is so easy to bully? You are returning evil for good!"

Li Xiaohong, hearing the old man's words, let out a cold snort. "You're just being biased, Father. This is your granddaughter! Why are you speaking up for an outsider? Besides, that loser hit our Weiwei; are we supposed to just swallow our pride? The Bai family isn't so weak that we have to take this lying down, are we?"

As the old man listened to Li Xiaohong, the anger on his face gradually faded into resignation.

He let out a long, weary sigh. "Fine. You people have no idea of the hidden dangers involved. Butler, help me back to my room."

The butler nodded immediately and supported the old man as he left the living room.

Only Bai Weiwei’s smug smile remained in the room. The only person who could have stopped her was the old man, and judging by his reaction, he had clearly decided not to intervene.

...

Elsewhere, a taxi pulled up in front of Liuting Hall.

The driver glanced at the hall and said to the passenger in the back, "Young man, are you here to practice boxing? You don't exactly look the type."

"No, I'm just here to wreck the place."

Li Mu finished his sentence, a faint curl at the corner of his lips, and prepared to step out.

"Hey, kid! You're planning to cause trouble here? Listen to me, son, leave now. Don't stir up trouble in a place like this."

"This Liuting Hall isn't just any ordinary place. The thugs inside have all tasted blood, and they're involved in... well, certain kinds of industries. Don't do something stupid, kid!"

Li Mu nodded slightly in thanks and paid the fare before leaving.

He knew perfectly well that this place was far from ordinary.

Watching Li Mu walk away, the driver sighed. "What a fine young man. To think he's heading into Liuting Hall—a place that devours people whole without even spitting out the bones."

The driver sighed repeatedly and quickly pulled away.

Liuting Hall was an antique-style Chinese compound surrounded by wooden fences, through which one could dimly make out the interior.

Two massive stone lions stood guard at the entrance, looking incredibly fierce. Behind them stood two bodyguards.

They were muscular and brawny, with veins bulging and expressions of pure malice. Their gazes were sharp and piercing.

They had heard the car arrive long ago, and as soon as Li Mu stepped out, they kept their eyes locked on him.

Li Mu swept a glance over them, his lips curling slightly. They were indeed trained fighters, and their strength was not insignificant—though only by the standards of ordinary people.

Seeing Li Mu approach, the guard on the left barked, "Who are you? What do you want here? Stop right there!"

Li Mu stopped in his tracks and looked at the two men with a smile.

"Gentlemen, I simply wish to pay a visit to the Master of Liuting Hall. Nothing more."

The two looked at each other, and the one on the left asked, "Show us your invitation."

"An invitation?" Li Mu shook his head. "I don't have one."

"Then you can't go in."

"And what if I insist on entering? Are you two going to stop me?"

At those words, the two men moved to shove Li Mu back.

Li Mu’s smirk deepened. He retreated swiftly, dodging their attacks, then reached out and grabbed their arms. With a violent yank, he pulled them toward him and clamped his hands around their throats. The sheer force of his grip left them unable to breathe.

"You! You!" The guard on the left struggled, trying to resist Li Mu’s strength.

Li Mu tilted his head. "Do you want to die?"

As soon as the words left his lips, the two men, who had been struggling for air, saw their faces turn deep red. Their eyes began to bulge from the lack of oxygen.

"I'm going to ask you one question. Answer it honestly, or else..."
