Chapter Eleven: The Show Is About to Begin

“Wow! Baby, you really do accomplish big things quietly!” Ye Pianpian exclaimed.
While watching the surveillance footage, she had only assumed that Shen Suining had finally come to her senses, no longer blindly trusting that scoundrel Jiang Runlang, and had learned to find her own happiness.
Although Jiang Jun’s face looked somewhat familiar to her, she hadn’t dared to connect that man to Jiang Jun.
Now, after hearing Shen Suining’s words, Ye Pianpian was so shocked that her jaw almost dropped.
However, more than anything, she was just eager to watch the drama unfold.
“This is going to be a spectacle!” Ye Pianpian said. “Back when the Jiang family suddenly announced Jiang Jun’s death, my parents privately said there must have been something fishy about it. Now it seems that Jiang Jun’s sudden return is probably for revenge.”
Shen Suining looked at Ye Pianpian blankly, not quite understanding what she meant.
Seeing this, Ye Pianpian said, “Sigh, I don’t know the details either. Before, I didn’t know you had this kind of relationship with Jiang Jun, so I didn’t tell you. But since you two are the real couple, I’ll tell you…”
She leaned in mysteriously beside Shen Suining, lowering her voice even though they were in her own office.
“My parents said that the old master of the Jiang family was in poor health back then. For half a year, he was frequently hospitalized, and several times he received critical condition notices. His will left three-quarters of the Jiang family fortune to Jiang Jun, and the control of the family would also go to him.”
Shen Suining had no knowledge of this. When she married Jiang Runlang, the old master and Jiang Jun were already gone.
Ye Pianpian continued, “As the eldest son of the Jiang family and Jiang Jun’s older brother, Jiang Zan was naturally unhappy with this will. It is said that he stormed to the old master’s bedside several times, saying that even if the family wasn’t passed to him, it should at least go to Jiang Runlang—but not Jiang Jun.”
Hearing this, Shen Suining frowned slightly.
Although her specialty was archaeology, after all these years with Jiang Runlang, she knew clearly that he was not the type to manage a family well.
At this point, Ye Pianpian curled her lips in disdain and said, “Jiang Zan really has some nerve to think that way. With what little ability he and Jiang Runlang have, entrusting the family business to them would be like waiting for it to be squandered.”
In fact, the Jiang family had been in decline these past years.
If not for the solid foundation laid previously, the Jiang family might no longer exist in Ning City.
Shen Suining asked, “Then what happened afterward? Why did Jiang Jun become… a ‘dead man’?”
She found it hard to say those two words.

Ye Pianpian shook her head and said, “I don’t know the specifics either. I only heard that on the morning Jiang Jun’s death was announced, the old master of the Jiang family passed away that afternoon. After that, no one dared to mention Jiang Jun in front of the Jiang family.”
Lowering her voice further, Ye Pianpian said to Shen Suining, “But my parents privately discussed that Jiang Jun’s death was probably closely linked to Jiang Zan and his son.”
Shen Suining was stunned, looking at Ye Pianpian in disbelief.
“Sui Sui, I told you before, don’t be fooled by Jiang Runlang’s outwardly noble and pure appearance. He’s not a good person at all,” Ye Pianpian said.
Shen Suining pressed her lips tightly, uncertain how to describe her feelings.
From her perspective, although Jiang Runlang had now broken her heart, he had truly treated her well before.
Whether it was the respect he showed during his courtship or the investment he made in her grandmother’s treatment after their marriage, Shen Suining was full of gratitude toward Jiang Runlang.
One could say that without him, her grandmother might no longer be alive.
Though now her grandmother’s medication was controlled by Pei Min, and only if Shen Suining did as Pei Min wished would the medicine be given on time.
Still, Shen Suining remained grateful to Jiang Runlang.
That was why, all these years, she had put all her energy into supporting her husband and raising Jiang Jiang.
If it hadn’t been for Pei Min threatening her with her grandmother’s medicine, she wouldn’t have returned to the project team a year ago to join the archaeological work with her teachers and senior colleagues.
Ye Pianpian looked at Shen Suining with unprecedented seriousness.
She said, “Sui Sui, now that Jiang Runlang has done something so disgusting, why not take this chance to cut ties with him? According to Jiang Jun’s wishes, Jiang Jiang isn’t even your daughter. You shouldn’t waste everything on those ungrateful wolves.”
Shen Suining didn’t respond immediately but fell into deep thought.
Ye Pianpian grew anxious, cupping Shen Suining’s cheeks and saying, “No way, Shen Suining! Those ungrateful wolves have treated you like that, and you still hesitate to let go?”
If that was true, she would really be upset!
Meeting Ye Pianpian’s clearly angry gaze, Shen Suining shook her head and said, “I will divorce Jiang Runlang.”

Only then did Ye Pianpian smile with satisfaction.
“That’s more like it! Sui Sui, when it’s time to cut ties, just do it. Don’t waste your energy on someone who’s not worth it.”
Shen Suining nodded but then worriedly said, “I just don’t know how to protect my grandmother. I’m afraid they will use her as a bargaining chip against me.”
Ye Pianpian, ever optimistic, said, “Pfft, that’s no problem. Just have Jiang Jun handle it for you.”
Shen Suining frowned slightly, clearly disagreeing with Ye Pianpian’s suggestion.
Ye Pianpian said, “I mean it. Since Jiang Jun dares to reveal all these truths to you so openly, it means he has the ability to solve everything. Why not use this matter to test him? If he can’t even handle such a small thing, then you can tell him to get lost.”
Shen Suining stared at Ye Pianpian in surprise, as if asking how she could think so simply.
Ye Pianpian patted Shen Suining’s shoulder and said, “Anyway, you don’t have any feelings for Jiang Jun now, right?”
Shen Suining said, “Precisely because I have no feelings for him, I don’t want to trouble him.”
She did not want to get involved with Jiang Jun.
Ye Pianpian asked, “What about your son? Don’t you want him?”
This truly stumped Shen Suining.
Thinking of Jiang Yinuo’s adorable little face and how he always looked at her with reverent eyes, Shen Suining felt her heart soften involuntarily.
Perhaps this was the bond of blood; she couldn’t help but feel close to Jiang Yinuo.
Ye Pianpian asked, “Or is it that you still can’t let go of Jiang Jiang?”
Ye Pianpian was a person of black and white. Now that she knew Jiang Jiang was not Shen Suining’s daughter and that this little ungrateful brat despised Shen Suining so much, she could only feel that Shen Suining was undeserving of such treatment.
