Gu Qingcheng wasn’t actually angry; she was only pretending. Lin Fan knew it, and Gu Qingcheng knew that Lin Fan knew—but such was the playful trickery between young lovers.

Seeing Gu Qingcheng pout, Lin Fan immediately grinned and leaned over to kiss her. He chuckled, “Alright, alright. It’s your day off, so I’ll take you out later. I’ll buy you a car, how about that? Whatever others have, my Qingcheng should have too!”

“That’s more like it,” she replied, appeased, and turned to see Lin Fan getting dressed and ready to get up. She blinked in confusion. “Honey, why are you getting up so suddenly?”

“To take you out to buy a car.”

Realizing Lin Fan meant it, Gu Qingcheng hurriedly waved her hands, insisting she was only joking. She knew Lin Fan was generous—after all, the first time they met, he gave her this villa. Back then, she wasn’t his girlfriend, so she accepted the villa without guilt. But now, considering herself his girlfriend, she felt she should be more prudent.

Before she could finish protesting, Lin Fan pulled her from the bed, determined to take her out to buy a car.

Seeing Lin Fan’s resolve, Gu Qingcheng could only accept his kindness.

They quickly set out, driving straight to the Lamborghini showroom.

Just as they arrived, they witnessed a farcical scene.

A customer, disgruntled at not receiving a satisfactory discount, was berating a salesperson: “I’m spending all this money on a car, and you only offer this pitiful discount? Are you trying to fob me off like a beggar?”

“I’m sorry, sir…” The salesperson apologized repeatedly, but nonetheless endured a harsh scolding, and failed to make the sale.

“Tch, He Yu, you can’t even sell a single car. What a waste of your looks! You can’t do anything right!” Another salesperson, seeing the customer leave, pounced on He Yu with mocking sarcasm.

Having lost her sale, He Yu felt dejected, and couldn’t be bothered to respond.

Just then, Lin Fan entered the showroom with Gu Qingcheng. The sarcastic salesperson sized them up, noting their elegant attire, and immediately elbowed He Yu aside to greet them enthusiastically: “Welcome to the Lamborghini showroom! What kind of car are you interested in?”

“Honey, let’s not buy this—it’s too expensive. Just get me a car like Zhu Ruoxue’s; that’ll do,” Gu Qingcheng whispered. She didn’t know much about cars; before entering, she hadn’t realized this was a Lamborghini showroom, thinking it was just a regular dealership.

It wasn’t until the mocking salesperson announced it was a Lamborghini showroom that she began to reconsider.

Lin Fan smiled at Gu Qingcheng’s hesitation, about to speak, when the sarcastic salesperson dropped her smile and sneered, “I thought you two could afford it, but apparently not. Are you here for free cake and tea? Tsk tsk tsk, I can’t stand people who look glamorous but are penniless inside. If you can’t buy, just leave and stop wasting my time.”

“You!” Gu Qingcheng’s eyes widened in disbelief. She hadn’t expected such snobbish behavior even in a Lamborghini showroom.

She wanted to retort, but Lin Fan beat her to it.

Lin Fan spoke calmly, “You’re not wrong. Since having you serve us is such a waste of time, why not let that other salesperson assist us instead?”

“At least you know your place,” the salesperson replied, her mood improving as Lin Fan remained polite. She lazily beckoned He Yu, her tone dismissive, “Hey, He Yu, are you deaf? Can’t you see there are customers here? Hurry up and attend to them.”

This salesperson had been at the dealership longer than He Yu and always treated her this way. He Yu dared not object; she nodded meekly and approached Lin Fan and Gu Qingcheng with a professional smile: “Hello, what kind of car would you like to see?”

“These cars… are rather expensive,” Lin Fan remarked.

He Yu was taken aback, tempted to retort, but her professionalism prevailed and she smiled, “You’re joking, sir. Lamborghini caters to the high-end market. Why don’t we take a look first and consider?”

“No need.” Lin Fan, impressed by He Yu’s attitude, waved his hand. “What’s your highest-end, most expensive car here?”

“Sir, our priciest model costs 3.4 million. You…” He Yu paused, eyes wide in disbelief.

“Tch, the most expensive car? He Yu, don’t let yourself be fooled. He’s just showing off,” the sarcastic salesperson interjected.

Even Gu Qingcheng was angered by the salesperson’s attitude, yet Lin Fan remained cheerful, ignoring her and speaking only to He Yu, “Why are you standing there? Swipe my card, prepare the car, and draw up the contract.”

“You… you really want to buy it?” He Yu stammered.

Lin Fan ran a hand over his face. Did he really look that much like he couldn’t afford it?

He Yu quickly realized her gaffe, and promptly processed the paperwork, asking Lin Fan whose name to put as the owner. He instructed her to write Gu Qingcheng’s name.

Before He Yu finished the paperwork, the sarcastic salesperson was convinced Lin Fan was just there to show off to his girlfriend. But when Lin Fan paid the full price without haggling and bought the most expensive car in the showroom, she regretted it deeply.

It should have been her sale!

But regrets were useless; the sale belonged to He Yu now.

Truth be told, not only were the salesperson and He Yu baffled, even Gu Qingcheng was a little stunned. She clutched Lin Fan’s hand, biting her lip. “Honey, this car is too expensive. There’s no need… I only wanted something to get around.”

“I know, but this is my gift to you. I bought Zhu Ruoxue a car for two or three hundred thousand, so I’m giving you one ten times that. Isn’t that fair?”

Corny or not, Gu Qingcheng was touched; the love in her eyes was nearly overflowing.

Having bought the car, they couldn’t take it home immediately, especially a top-tier model, which the dealership would deliver. So Lin Fan and Gu Qingcheng returned home in their own car.

On the way, the system’s long-silent reward notification arrived: [Bonus for host’s expenditure has been issued. Please check your account.]
