Chapter 107: Scheming Against Zhang Yi!
In other words, if Lin Fan were to rush all the way to Yazhou, the earliest he could arrive would be noon. There was no way he could be right behind them.
Unless Lin Fan had chartered a private jet too.
By then, Zhong Xingnan and the other two had also reached the pavilion. Hearing Zhang Yi say that Lin Fan had made it to Yazhou as well, Zhong Xingnan wore an expression of utter disbelief.
The silver-haired rich kid immediately echoed, “He can’t have only just boarded the plane, can he? By the time he gets here, it’ll probably be seven or eight at night!”
As he spoke, he shot Zhong Xingnan a look.
Zhong Xingnan understood the meaning in his eyes and gave him a subtle nod.
“I’m going back to get you all something to drink. If you’re going to watch the sunrise for the first time, you absolutely need fine wine and good food to truly savor that leisurely, soul-soothing view…”
The silver-haired scion rubbed his hands together. After saying that, he headed back to the hotel for food.
A few minutes later, he returned to the pavilion carrying a tray. On it were several mixed cocktails, their colors blending like a rainbow. Zhang Yi and the other three all said they wanted to try a few sips.
Seeing Zhang Yi drink a little, Zhong Xingnan could hardly contain his delight.
Originally, he had planned to charter a yacht in the afternoon and take the four women out to sea for some fun, then deal with Zhang Yi that night.
He had never expected that Lin Fan, that uncouth bumpkin, would actually rush here overnight without even a plane ticket.
This only proved that he still had not taken Zhang Yi, and it made Zhong Xingnan even more unable to suppress the rising heat in his chest.
He intended to act quickly and decisively.
And even if Lin Fan really did make it here, by then Zhong Xingnan would already have enjoyed himself thoroughly. Better yet, he could humiliate Lin Fan all over again and turn him into a laughingstock and a clown.
But Zhang Yi, whether out of caution or fear of the cold, drank only two sips before suddenly insisting on going back to the hotel.
“Let’s play a little longer. There’s still half an hour until sunrise, and dawn comes very fast at sea. If we miss it, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning,” Tang Guo urged.
But Zhang Yi was determined to go back and change clothes. Zhong Xingnan made up his mind and decided to go straight to force.
It was still dark, and there were only a few people along the shore and the path.
“Aren’t you going to stay and play with Tang Guo and the others? Then let’s go out to sea together at noon. Yazhou has plenty of fun places…” Zhong Xingnan said, draping something over her shoulders. “Put this on so you don’t catch a cold…”
As he spoke, he suddenly seized the moment and shoved Zhang Yi onto the grass beside the tree-lined path.
Zhang Yi was shocked out of her wits. “What are you doing!”
“What am I doing? Heh… can’t you tell? I’ve been unable to hold back for a long time!”
“Who told you to be so beautiful? Compared with Tang Guo, you’re worlds apart! Just come with me, heh heh. I can give you some money afterward!”
With lust blazing in his eyes and breathing like an ox, Zhong Xingnan stared at Zhang Yi with hungry eagerness.
Zhang Yi was wearing only a bikini, and while her figure was not the most breathtaking, her skin was fair and luminous, like fine jade. On top of that, Zhong Xingnan had a peculiar taste and especially liked doing things outdoors.
He could no longer restrain himself and planned to have her right there and then.
He had even deliberately prepared a towel so he could bind Zhang Yi’s hands and feet, which would only heighten his desire.
But he had never imagined that Zhang Yi knew self-defense.
Though she was an office-duty police officer, her physical condition was better than that of most girls; she was by no means the kind of delicate woman who could not lift a hand.
After regaining her composure, she immediately lifted a knee and struck Zhong Xingnan in the groin.
In the next second, Zhong Xingnan felt a searing agony explode below the belt, his whole body jolting as though electrocuted. Forced to let go, he rolled to the side.
Seeing this, Zhang Yi got up and ran toward the hotel entrance in the distance.
Zhong Xingnan quickly came to his senses. Watching the duck in his grasp fly away made him furious.
As the saying goes, lust is a blade hanging over one’s head. At that moment, Zhong Xingnan had completely lost his mind. He decided that once he chased her inside, he would drag Zhang Yi into a room and teach her a proper lesson.
The tree-lined path was about a hundred meters from the hotel entrance, and Zhang Yi, wearing sandals, felt as though her legs were weighed down by a thousand pounds.
Regret flooded her heart.
She should have listened to Lin Fan. She should not have let herself be reckless just for the sake of pride and misplaced loyalty.
But that flaw of hers was not something she could change overnight.
At one point, she instinctively glanced back and, in terror, saw Zhong Xingnan actually catching up.
Suddenly, she felt an inexplicable weariness. For some reason, the strength in her body seemed to vanish all at once, making even her steps difficult.
Seeing Zhang Yi’s pace slow to that of a crawling snail, Zhong Xingnan curled his lips into a smug, sinister grin.
“Good thing I was prepared. No matter how chaste a woman is, one sip is enough to make her lose the will to resist! In a moment, I’ll have you obediently surrender and become entirely my plaything!”
Zhong Xingnan was already on the verge of singing with delight.
But just then, a figure suddenly appeared ahead.
One who froze him in place in an instant.
“At last, I found you. You really made me look…”
Just then, Lin Fan had arrived at the hotel entrance and spotted Zhang Yi at once.
The moment Zhang Yi heard Lin Fan’s voice, her heart leaped violently, as though she had seen a divine being.
“Lin Fan, I’m here!”
Her cry to him was almost a plea for help.
Lin Fan also sensed that something was wrong with her tone. He strode over quickly and pulled her into his arms.
“What’s wrong? Are you all right?”
“I’m fine… I never thought you’d really come. I thought you had only just set out from Hangzhou.” Zhang Yi’s heart was pounding wildly, as though she had survived a disaster. She felt both relief and lingering fear.
If Lin Fan had truly only departed from Hangzhou now, she might already have become Zhong Xingnan’s toy.
But Lin Fan still sensed that something was off, because he saw Zhong Xingnan standing not far away, alone, staring blankly at him like a fool.
That gaze was like that of a child who had done something wrong, shifty and evasive.
And with the faint abrasion on Zhang Yi’s back, plus the fact that it was still the early hours of the morning and there were only the two of them on the tree-lined path with no one else in sight, Lin Fan suspected that something had definitely happened between them just now.
So he asked directly, “Did he try to bully you just now?”
“I, I… if you hadn’t arrived in time, he would have succeeded.”
Zhang Yi clutched her chest and said, frightened.
Hearing this, Lin Fan lifted his head and glared at Zhong Xingnan, killing intent flashing in his eyes.
Zhong Xingnan also felt the coldness erupting from that stare, and for the first time in his life, he actually felt fear.
But then another voice rose in his heart: I’m the young master of the Zhong family. Am I really supposed to be afraid of some country bumpkin? I could crush a useless punk like him with one finger. What’s there to fear?
Immediately afterward, his face regained its arrogant, domineering expression. He stared straight at Lin Fan, as if to say: And what can you do to me?
Feeling the provocation and contempt in Zhong Xingnan’s eyes, Lin Fan could no longer hold back.
“If you dare bully my woman, I will make you pay the price. I’ve remembered you!”
He had already made up his mind that even if it did not trigger a system quest, he would still exact a vicious revenge and make Zhong Xingnan understand that even a rabbit will bite when cornered.
“How ridiculous. A twig trying to pose as a towering tree.”
