Chapter 153: Wang Duoyu’s Behavior
As he spoke, Sun Feiyun cast a sharp, disdainful glare at the man in the T-shirt and muttered, "Some people have seen so little of the world, yet they love to act like armchair experts. A typical clown."
"Mr. Lin, having a clown like that on board really ruins your mood. Since we haven't set sail yet, why don't you have them thrown off?"
Lin Fan didn't even glance at the man in the T-shirt. He waved his hand with magnanimous indifference and said in a preachy tone, "No need. The world is just like this. Even if you wiped out every fly and mosquito, they would still exist. Do you know why?"
The crowd nodded, looking confused.
"It’s just like people. We are born destined to age, die, and decay! It’s just that most people are smart enough not to make themselves look as foolish as animals."
Although his words lacked any real philosophical depth, no one dared to contradict him; they all nodded in feigned admiration.
The man in the T-shirt turned deathly pale. How could he not realize that Lin Fan was indirectly insulting him, comparing him to rotting trash?
"Begging your pardon, but in truth, these yachts aren't worth much. Like supercars, they depreciate after a certain point. At most, they're worth 350 million now."
Sun Feiyun echoed him, nodding along.
"No wonder so many are just sitting here. Are many of them unmaintained?" Lin Fan looked around, asking thoughtfully.
"If you find that price too high, we can lower it. I'm open to anything," Sun Feiyun said tentatively.
To everyone's surprise, Lin Fan dropped a bombshell: "You misunderstood me. I meant that I’ll add a bit more to the price. Just make sure you have someone maintain all the boats that have been docked for a long time! I’ll buy them for 400 million. What do you think? If you think that’s too little, feel free to ask for more."
"No, no, no... 400 million is already more than enough."
Sun Feiyun nodded, flattered and overwhelmed. He hadn't expected Lin Fan to negotiate in reverse. His internal reserve price had been 300 million; he had only inflated it to avoid a loss. Lin Fan had added another 50 million on top of that, giving him more than enough face.
"Then hurry up and sign the contract. We still need to head out to sea!" Lin Fan waved his hand impatiently.
Sun Feiyun immediately produced the prepared contract, which was nothing more than a single sheet of paper. Given the suddenness of the situation, he hadn't had time to prepare a detailed legal document, but the outcome was as simple as buying vegetables: once the money was received, the company belonged to Lin Fan.
Lin Fan didn't hesitate; he pulled out his phone and transferred the 400 million to Sun Feiyun’s account.
"Mr. Lin! You are truly magnificent! To transfer 400 million just like that—if you ever need anything from me in the future, just call. I’m at your service!"
Seeing the text message from the bank, Sun Feiyun bowed to Lin Fan, trembling with excitement.
The scene left everyone present stunned and wide-eyed, unable to believe what they were seeing. Had Lin Fan really just spent 400 million to buy the entire yacht charter company? This was too exaggerated—even more so than the plots of over-the-top CEO dramas.
After Sun Feiyun thanked him profusely, he practically floated off the boat in high spirits. Only then did Lin Fan instruct Jin Hangtang to tell the captain to set sail.
As the yacht began to rock with the movement of the engine, the others finally regained their senses.
"My god! Yichen, your boss really wasn't bluffing. He actually spent 400 million to buy the whole company. That’s terrifying."
"400 million... I can’t even imagine how big a pile of 400 million in cash would be! That’s a number a normal person couldn't earn in several lifetimes, and he just transferred it like it was nothing."
"And he even negotiated in reverse! He could have haggled down, but he actually increased the price to 400 million? That is classic 'Wang Duoyu' behavior! Do you think he’s even richer than the guy in that movie?"
"Isn't that obvious? Wang Duoyu only had one billion to start with. The movies Mr. Lin has invested in have already grossed over three billion. Who do you think is richer?"
The three girls, including the one with glasses, crowded around Zhang Yichen, fawning over Lin Fan. They even joked about becoming his nanny, his maid, or even his mistress, drawing eye-rolls from Zhang Yichen.
"Can you all act normal for once? Mr. Lin is a refined gentleman, and he’s already taken. You shouldn't say things like that..." Zhang Yichen said solemnly.
Despite her words, she shifted closer to Lin Fan and hooked her arm through his, as if declaring to the world that he was her boyfriend. This move made the other girls green with envy. Previously, they had been skeptical, but now they were convinced that Lin Fan truly had an endless supply of money.
Suddenly, the girl with glasses remembered something and shouted with a haughty air, "Someone didn't believe it earlier! They said if Mr. Lin bought all the yachts, they'd act like a dog for him! Why are you so quiet now?"
Everyone looked at the man in the T-shirt with strange expressions. He kept his face dark, looking away in embarrassment and shame.
However, the man with the crew cut remained skeptical.
"For all we know, that 'Boss Sun' was just an actor he hired. Even the bank text message could have been pre-arranged, all just to put on a show of 'Wang Duoyu' behavior for everyone! How can a contract be this simple? Just one piece of paper? For something this serious, to finish the deal in a few words like it’s child’s play—it’s too fake!"
"It’s all just acting, right? Anyone could do that..."
The implication was clear: he believed Sun Feiyun was an actor specifically arranged by Lin Fan.
Hearing this, Jin Hangtang couldn't hold back anymore.
"By your logic, does that make me a fake, too? If Boss Sun is an actor, didn't you greet him just moments ago?"
The man with the crew cut froze, not expecting his own words to be so contradictory. He was at a loss for how to retort.
Seeing this, Lin Fan looked up and asked, "The cash I asked you to prepare—is it ready?"
"It’s ready, exactly three million!" Jin Hangtang signaled to a security guard standing in the corner.
The burly man immediately dragged a suitcase over.
"Everyone, it’s a rare occasion to be out at sea, and since it’s Liu’s birthday, why don't we play a game?"
As he spoke, Lin Fan opened the suitcase. Two million in cash instantly captured everyone’s attention.
"Mr. Lin, what kind of game?"
"Can we participate? Please don't make it too crazy!"
"Let’s go change into our swimwear; I think I know what game he wants to play..."
The girl with glasses and the others fawned over Lin Fan, surrounding him. One of the girls saw Lin Fan pull out several balloons and, after blowing them up, stuff bundles of cash inside them. She immediately guessed the game and urged the other girls to head to the lower deck cabins to change.
Lin Fan smiled mysteriously, keeping his thoughts to himself as he and Jin Hangtang placed 1.5 million in cash, in varying amounts, into the balloons. These balloons were quite large; once inflated, they were nearly the size of yoga balls.
Once everything was prepared, Liu Yimeng, the girl with glasses, and the others returned in their swimsuits. Only Zhang Yichen didn't follow suit; first, she suspected Lin Fan might be looking to humiliate the two gold-diggers, Yu Xiaowei and Qiu Shan, and second, she couldn't swim.
Lin Fan then led everyone to the stern of the yacht.
