Chapter 64: The Four Heavenly Kings?
"Bai Jiahao, you bastard! You're disgusting!" Miao Tiantian cried out in fury, her voice trembling with grief. She had never imagined that the boyfriend she'd been with for over a year would scheme against her for the sake of money.
"If we're talking about disgusting, you're the real culprit here! Just because some big shot rewarded you ten million, you coldly broke up with me. You're the one who's materialistic!" Bai Jiahao sneered, feeling in control now that he had leverage over Miao Tiantian.
"And you think you have the right to accuse me of being materialistic? Wasn’t it you who first suggested we pretend to break up? You never really cared about me at all, did you? In your eyes, I was nothing but a commodity!"
"I'm so disappointed in you. Thankfully, he tested you—otherwise, I would never have seen your true colors!" As Miao Tiantian gradually regained her composure, her tone was tinged with resentment.
But Bai Jiahao was unmoved.
"Hmph! I knew it—you and him have been colluding for a long time. Since he’s so rich... By five o’clock tomorrow afternoon, bring me two million, and I'll delete all the videos and photos. After that, we're done. Each of us goes our own way!"
With that, he hung up.
Miao Tiantian stood there, frozen with anger, her face turning pale and then flushed.
Meanwhile, in the streaming room, everyone was calling for Sweetie to come back online and continue the broadcast. Most of the audience was speculating wildly that she might be preparing to meet Lin Fan offline.
At that moment, Lin Fan was getting ready to take a shower when he suddenly received a video call from Miao Tiantian.
After answering, Lin Fan listened as Miao Tiantian recounted everything that had just happened.
"I can't believe he would treat you like this! Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Tell him to be at Starlight Streaming Company by five o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Just say I’ll give him the money then," Lin Fan reassured her, offering a solution.
But Miao Tiantian hesitated. "You want to give him the money? From what I know of him, he won't let things go that easily... He's very cunning, and besides, he's a second-generation rich kid from Hang City."
Hearing this, Lin Fan was taken aback. He could sense there was more to her words.
"Does he have a powerful background?"
Miao Tiantian paused for a few seconds, her tone uncertain. "Have you heard of the Four Kings of Hang City? He's one of them."
This revelation startled Lin Fan. He hadn’t expected Miao Tiantian’s boyfriend to have such a notorious background.
Back in university, he'd already heard of the infamous "Four Kings of Hang City." They were notorious for their debauchery, womanizing, street racing, picking fights, bullying the weak, and colluding with the city's underworld. They were the sons of wealthy families, infamous for their lawlessness.
Curious, Lin Fan asked, "How did you get to know him?"
"It was him who relentlessly pursued me. Plus, back then my family was still well-off, and I liked excitement. I got swept up by his charm... I was too young."
"President Lin, if you can solve this trouble for me, I... I’m willing to be your lover... if you want," she whispered, her voice so faint that it was barely audible, revealing the struggle within her.
Lin Fan’s heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected her to say something so shocking. It was completely at odds with her angelic, pure appearance—a striking contrast.
Yet, Lin Fan wasn't particularly interested in such a drastic contrast. But since she was seeking his help, and since he intended to recruit Miao Tiantian as a top streamer for his company, she would be under his protection. He couldn’t let her be wronged.
"It’s a small matter. Don’t worry, I’ll have someone handle it. It’s getting late—you should end your stream and rest," Lin Fan said soothingly, then ended the call.
The next day, Friday.
After lunch, Lin Fan drove to Starlight Streaming Company.
He had looked into it the night before: Starlight Streaming was a platform invested in by Superstar Media, but not owned outright by them. The platform featured some minor actors and hosts from Superstar Media, leading many to mistakenly believe Starlight was a subsidiary.
Superstar Media was a massive conglomerate based in the Magic City, with branches in several major cities. Its holdings included film companies, entertainment firms, game studios, and more. It was publicly listed, valued at thirty billion, and ranked tenth among the nation’s media giants.
Chen Yanzi was signed to the entertainment division of Superstar Media, with a persona crafted specifically for streaming and short videos on the GoldTok platform, aiming to generate traffic and sell products through live broadcasts.
Streamers like Miao Tiantian, with her striking looks, could potentially become leading streamers and, if noticed by Superstar Films, might be recruited as actresses.
Until last night, Lin Fan’s plan was to build his own Genesis Entertainment into a powerhouse for cultivating streamers. But after arriving at Starlight Streaming today, he changed his mind—he decided to acquire the entire platform.
To facilitate the acquisition, he invited Su Juanmo to assist him, leveraging her connections and influence.
Over the phone, Lin Fan laid out his plans, and Su Juanmo readily agreed. After all, Lin Fan had given her a house and a car before, and she was happy to return the favor.
Just as he was sitting in a wicker chair at the outdoor café in front of Starlight Streaming, waiting for her, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure emerging from the underground parking lot.
Again, it was that detestable woman—Chen Yanzi!
Lin Fan could hardly believe he’d run into her here today.
As before, she was accompanied by the older man Lin Fan had seen with her at the Dior boutique. Through her streams, Lin Fan had learned that this man was Su Daqiang, owner of two supermarkets, a distillery, and a food factory—assets worth over a hundred million.
Chen Yanzi’s streams promoted alcohol and health supplements, all products from Su Daqiang’s factories.
Lin Fan had watched her selling those goods on stream—they were all counterfeit. Whether it was liquor or health products, they were all shoddy imitations, with sky-high return rates and negative reviews.
Lin Fan turned away, pretending not to see them.
But Chen Yanzi was not about to let it go. Seeing him ignore her, she was immediately incensed.
"Lin Fan! Don’t pretend to be blind. Tell me—why did you hit Chen Wei?"
She stood over him, aggressive and domineering, demanding an answer.
Lin Fan’s expression darkened. "He ambushed me—am I not allowed to fight back? So I’m just supposed to let him bully me?"
"What, are you here to accuse me now?"
Chen Yanzi snorted, glaring at him venomously. "Since we’re both here, let’s settle this. You beat Chen Wei so badly his face is bruised and his bones are broken. You must compensate us! If you don’t pay up, I’ll expose you!"
Lin Fan was utterly dumbfounded, so angry he almost laughed.
"So you’re here to extort money from me?"
