What are you hiding from? Don’t you have any sense of it yourself?
Ruan Mianmian, flustered and panicked, pulled the blanket back again, burying her entire face beneath it.
“Go, just go!”
Jiang Ce was momentarily silent. He came to the bedside and asked softly, “Are you regretting it? Or blaming me? That’s why you’re upset?”
His tone sounded a bit downcast, tinged with hurt.
Ruan Mianmian’s bright eyes shone, and she hurriedly said, “No.”
“Then why this attitude? You must be angry, blaming me for being reckless, right?”
His tone was filled with grievance.
Ruan Mianmian pursed her lips and explained, “I’m not angry, and I don’t blame you. I just feel too embarrassed. I don’t know how to face you.”
“Fool.”
Jiang Ce’s lips curled into a smile as he turned to lie on the other side, making a move to embrace Ruan Mianmian.
Unexpectedly, she hastily stretched out her hand to refuse him.
“Don’t touch me, I’m still sore.”
“Sore?”
Jiang Ce frowned, his expression somewhat awkward, but he still gently held Ruan Mianmian and whispered in her ear,
“Don’t worry, I won’t move you today.”
Ruan Mianmian suddenly wrinkled her nose. When she was dazed last night, she thought she heard something like this too.
Then, nothing more happened.
After a while, seeing Jiang Ce made no move, Ruan Mianmian finally relaxed completely.
Jiang Ce suddenly looked at her seriously and asked, “Do you really not regret it?”
“Mm.”
“Me neither.”
His tone revealed immense joy and complete satisfaction.
They quietly nestled together for a while, Jiang Ce’s brows lowered as he looked at the shy person in his arms who still didn’t want to speak.
He suggested, “Shall we go eat?”
Ruan Mianmian suddenly remembered and asked, “What time is it now?”
“Almost ten.”
That’s it, she probably can’t go to work today.
Ruan Mianmian glanced around and asked, “Where’s my phone?”
“In my room.”
She was still bare-skinned, so she awkwardly withdrew her arms and looked at Jiang Ce, saying, “You go get it for me.”
Jiang Ce glanced at her, stood up by himself, and headed outside.
As soon as he disappeared through the door, Ruan Mianmian quickly got up and started looking for her clothes.
Though her waist and back still felt a bit sore and weak, it was much better than before.
She swiftly slipped into a simple floral dress and then stepped out of the room.

Jiang Ce happened to come out of his room as well, his expression not very good.
“What’s wrong?”
Ruan Mianmian inquired.
Jiang Ce smirked faintly, “There’s quite a bit of news.”
Ruan Mianmian snatched the phone away, didn’t even glance at Jiang Ce, and headed downstairs.
“Tsk!”
Jiang Ce put his hands on his hips, shaking his head silently as he followed.
Ruan Mianmian opened a certain chat app, and a stream of congratulations popped up instantly.
[Ah Kuan: Congratulations! Heaven rewards the diligent, the rice is cooked and ready to eat now!]
[Bodyguard #1: Congrats, Brother Ruan, newly crowned boss!]
[Bodyguard #2: Congratulations, may you have children soon.]
[Shen Qing: Heard I’m going to be an uncle?]
…
Countless congratulatory messages flooded in.
Among them, the most discordant were simply the relentless nagging messages, probably related to her sudden disappearance after a disagreement.
But Ruan Mianmian couldn’t explain much now, and seeing the full screen of blessings, her face instantly flushed red.
It was as if she had done some shameless thing, and the whole village knew about it.
Not only that, those elders seemed ready to carry loudspeakers to the village entrance, shouting for all to hear.
Ruan Mianmian hugged the phone, covering her face, speechless and looking up at the sky.
She could imagine that in the coming days, perhaps even this month, she wouldn’t have a moment’s peace.
Because, in Starfish Bay, there are no secrets!
Jiang Ce looked at her vibrant little face and couldn’t help but laugh.
Ruan Mianmian rolled her eyes at him, plaintively saying, “You’re still laughing! It’s all your doing.”
“Mm, it’s me.”
Jiang Ce looked completely unrepentant.
Ruan Mianmian: “...”
Damn it!
But the most unexpected thing was, at the dining table, Old Zhang somehow produced a bowl of red date and wolfberry soup.
Claimed to replenish blood and energy.
Looking at the red date soup before her, Ruan Mianmian laughed in a way that was more painful than crying.
What the hell with replenishing blood and energy!
Why did she have to face all this?
Jiang Ce sat beside her, enjoying the scene, even pushing the red date soup closer to her.
He said solemnly, “Uncle Zhang’s kindness must not be wasted.”
Waste it my foot!

Ruan Mianmian chose to remain silent.
After finally having a rushed breakfast, she originally planned to rest a bit in the downstairs hall.
However, the teasing glances cast from near and far almost engulfed her.
Those people’s faces seemed to scream “Have children soon” in big letters.
Jiang Ce, on the other hand, wore a radiant smile, faintly revealing an air of enjoyment and pride.
Ruan Mianmian stood up without a word and walked upstairs. Jiang Ce hurried to catch up, grabbing her wrist and asking,
“What’s wrong?”
“Tired. Lying down.”
Her words were brief and to the point.
A certain longing flashed in Jiang Ce’s eyes, but Ruan Mianmian snapped coldly, “Alone!”
With that, she stomped off toward her bedroom, fuming.
Jiang Ce couldn’t help but laugh behind her.
Once back in her room, Ruan Mianmian opened her phone and happened to send a message to Jian Yanzhi, making up a casual excuse to brush it off.
Then she suddenly noticed that the usually sparse work group chat, which rarely had messages aside from work reports, showed more than 99 unread messages.
Her curiosity was instantly piqued.
She flipped through several pages of chat records and discovered they were all discussing the news that the CEO of Kaiyue Group had his “manhood” cut off on his wedding night!
Whoa! Big event! Big news!
Ruan Mianmian’s fingers froze as she recalled Jiang Ce’s cold and fierce expression last night.
Could it have been Jiang Ce?
But thinking carefully, she found it unlikely.
Jiang Ce had no connection to Kaiyue Group; why would he do such a thing to Zhou Kai?
Moreover, such a brutal method on a wedding night suggested a deep grudge. Could Zhou Kai have some mortal enemy?
Ruan Mianmian was at a loss and gradually lost interest.
After leaving the group chat, she suddenly saw a message from Jian Yanzhi.
[Jian Yanzhi asked: Are you okay last night? Have you heard about Zhou Kai? I was really worried about you.]
Ruan Mianmian saw it and coldly replied,
[Thanks for your concern, I’m fine.]
[Jian Yanzhi: Next time, can you not disappear like that? Or don’t make me unable to find you? Do you know how long I waited for you?]
Ruan Mianmian typed out a long string of refusal-laden words, then deleted them all, finally replying with just two words.
[Who are you?]
And with that, the world fell silent.
At this moment, Ruan Mianmian finally made up her mind. After some thought, she picked up her phone again, opened the chat with Jian Yanzhi, and typed:
“President Jian, I don’t think I’m suited for the design department’s work. Starting today, I officially resign from Hanhai.”
