Chapter 110: Don’t Hire Employees with Shit for Brains—The Arrest
As Yang Tianxiao spoke, he put away the pistol in his hand. He walked over to Xin Buqi and glanced at him.
Xin Buqi lowered his head and respectfully addressed him, “Hall Master.”
“Get back there!” Yang Tianxiao barked, kicking Xin Buqi in the stomach.
“Bang!”
The kick sent Xin Buqi flying backward into the staircase.
Coughing, Xin Buqi collapsed to the floor and could not get back up.
Yang Tianxiao turned around and looked at Tang Fu.
Tang Fu was somewhat frightened. He knew who Yang Tianxiao was, but he had never taken him seriously before.
In Tang Fu’s mind, the so-called Sky Roar Hall was nothing more than a bunch of hooligans playing house.
But now that he was facing Yang Tianxiao, Tang Fu still felt intimidated. He swallowed and edged back a little.
“Young Master Tang.” Yang Tianxiao faced him directly. “If any of my subordinates have done something improper, I apologize to you on their behalf.”
Tang Fu breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Hall Master Yang, you really do have to give me an explanation for this.”
“Oh? Then tell me. So long as our Dragon Spring Club is in the wrong, I will certainly apologize to you.” Yang Tianxiao looked at Tang Fu.
Tang Fu snorted. “I was celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday in one of your private rooms. Of course, I admit that I had improper intentions toward that girl, but what the hell does that have to do with your club? Your people suddenly stormed in and beat me up. They even split my head open! From childhood until now, even my own father has never beaten me that badly! And then you actually threw me into a trash can! If I let this go, can I still call myself the young master of the Tang Corporation?”
After listening to Tang Fu, Yang Tianxiao frowned. He had assumed that Tang Fu would clearly be in the wrong, but he had never expected someone at the club to beat Young Master Tang so badly and then throw him into a trash can. That really was difficult to justify.
Yang Tianxiao smiled faintly. “Our club will certainly give Young Master Tang an explanation. Let me ask who was so reckless as to treat you this way.”
With that, Yang Tianxiao slowly turned toward the dozens of waiters behind him and asked, “Who did it?”
Song Kai was standing on the second floor. He quietly edged to one side.
Damn it, he was about to be exposed. Where the hell was Wu Hongying? Why had she not arrived yet?
Just then, a succession of sirens sounded in the distance. A police vehicle stopped outside the Dragon Spring Club, and soon more than twenty armed officers rushed toward the building.
The moment Yang Tianxiao saw the police arrive, he frowned. Turning to Tang Fu, he said, “Young Master Tang, whatever the matter may be, I will give you an explanation. But it would be best not to involve the police, wouldn’t you agree?”
Tang Fu nodded.
Yang Tianxiao turned and walked toward Xin Buqi. “Aqi, hold off the police outside. I’m going upstairs first.”
Xin Buqi struggled to his feet. “Understood, Hall Master.”
Yang Tianxiao immediately headed upstairs.
By then, Wu Hongying had already led her people inside. She shouted, “We’re the police! You have endangered public safety and caused a disturbance. The principal offender is to come with us!”
Tang Fu snorted and gave a shove. One of his subordinates stepped forward and readily admitted that he was the person in charge.
Wu Hongying naturally had no intention of wasting time arguing with Tang Fu. She had come here to find Yang Tianxiao.
She turned and said, “Bring the person in charge here as well.”
“That would be me.” Xin Buqi came over, clutching his chest. “This is a private matter within our club. We were merely doing some renovations. Officer, aren’t you being a little too intrusive?”
Wu Hongying glanced at him and snorted. “Where is Yang Tianxiao, the owner of this club? Where is he?”
…
At that moment, Yang Tianxiao was in his office, preparing to leave through the secret passage.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open.
Yang Tianxiao frowned. This was his office, and ordinarily no one was allowed to enter. Naturally, Saint Ruins Daoist and the others were exceptions.
He was displeased and looked up. The person who had entered was a young man dressed in an attendant’s uniform.
Yang Tianxiao studied the young attendant before him. He did not remember having an employee like this, but it hardly mattered.
“What do you want?” Yang Tianxiao asked. He assumed Song Kai was merely an ordinary attendant.
The newcomer was naturally Song Kai.
Song Kai smiled faintly. “Hey, Hall Master Yang. The police downstairs want you to go down.”
“What?” Yang Tianxiao frowned and straightened up to look at him. He wondered whether this young attendant had something wrong with his head. He had deliberately hidden from the police by coming here, yet this idiot was telling him to go downstairs.
Song Kai said respectfully, “Hall Master Yang, the officers downstairs are calling for you to come down and answer some questions.”
“Are you out of your damn mind?” Yang Tianxiao exploded. He snatched up the pistol from the desk and pointed it at Song Kai. “Are you an idiot? Tell them I’m not here! Tell them I’m not in my office!”
“Oh.” Song Kai nodded.
Then he suddenly shouted toward the lobby on the first floor, “Boss Yang Tianxiao says he isn’t in his office! He says all you idiot cops should go home!”
Song Kai’s voice was not loud, but it carried remarkably well. Although he was shouting from the fourth floor, everyone in the first-floor lobby heard him clearly.
Wu Hongying was questioning the people in the lobby about Yang Tianxiao’s whereabouts when she heard Song Kai’s shout from above. She suddenly began to laugh. Song Kai certainly had a talent for doing the unexpected.
Wu Hongying immediately waved to two officers. “Go invite General Manager Yang downstairs.”
The two officers charged upstairs.
When Xin Buqi saw this, he realized that things were taking a bad turn and tried to stop them.
Wu Hongying had already drawn her pistol. Her expression was cold as she gave him a mocking smile. “I advise you not to move recklessly. You know better than I do what the punishment is for attacking an officer. I can’t guarantee that my gun won’t kill someone.”
Xin Buqi halted and did not dare block them.
The two officers continued running upstairs.
Inside the office, Yang Tianxiao heard Song Kai’s shout and nearly fell backward onto the floor. He raised his pistol and pointed it at Song Kai’s head.
“Is your head full of shit, or are you deliberately messing with me? I’ll shoot you dead!” Yang Tianxiao snarled.
Song Kai hurriedly said, “No, Boss! I was only conveying your instructions.”
“I… You damn…” Yang Tianxiao was so furious that he kicked toward Song Kai’s lower abdomen.
Song Kai immediately dodged.
Yang Tianxiao had no time to deal with him. He grabbed a briefcase from the desk and walked toward the wall behind the office. Pressing his hand against it, he caused a hidden door to split open, then stepped inside.
“Boss, don’t go! Running away is an even greater offense. Why don’t you just go to the police station and explain everything?” Song Kai said, grabbing Yang Tianxiao by the arm.
“I’ll cripple you, you treacherous bastard!” Even now, Yang Tianxiao still thought Song Kai was one of his employees. He turned and kicked directly at Song Kai’s stomach.
Yang Tianxiao had tremendous confidence in his own strength.
This time, however, his confidence had gone too far.
Song Kai caught Yang Tianxiao’s foot with both hands. Then he swung it aside and, with a resounding crash, hurled Yang Tianxiao toward the office door.
The pistol fell to the floor and slid far away.
Yang Tianxiao’s head struck the wall, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
He looked up at Song Kai and slowly struggled to his feet. Pointing at him, he said, “You… You bastard! You’re dead!”
Song Kai merely gave him a foolish grin.
At that moment, the two officers arrived. They immediately seized Yang Tianxiao by the arms.
“General Manager Yang, please come with us to the station…”
By this point, Yang Tianxiao no longer dared resist. If he fought back now, it would amount to openly assaulting the police. In Cloud Soaring City, no one was arrogant enough to attack officers in public.
Helpless, Yang Tianxiao walked downstairs with them. When he reached the first floor, he still did not forget to glare at Xin Buqi.
“Aqi, pay attention when you hire employees in the future! Don’t bring in idiots with shit for brains!”
Xin Buqi was completely baffled. He had no idea what had happened, but he still nodded immediately.
“Yes, Hall Master.”
Yang Tianxiao was utterly exasperated. He snorted, then turned to Wu Hongying with a smile.
“Officer Wu, it truly is an honor to finally meet you in person. I’ve heard your name for a long time—renowned for your beauty, integrity, and impartiality. Now that I’ve seen you for myself, I can say that you’re even more beautiful than the rumors claim.”
Wu Hongying smiled faintly. “You flatter me, General Manager Yang. However, this incident has become rather serious. The people in charge on both sides should come back to the station with us. It would be best if we can mediate the dispute. If not, we will act as neutral witnesses.”
“Yes, yes. But this is all a minor matter. Friction is inevitable when doing business, isn’t it, Tang—” Yang Tianxiao had assumed Tang Fu would be taken away as well, but then he saw that the person being arrested on Tang Fu’s side was merely a minor underling—a scapegoat.
“All right, let’s go.”
Yang Tianxiao still had not realized that danger was closing in. He was only annoyed that he had to go personally to the station. With that thought, he followed Wu Hongying into the police vehicle.
Back in the lobby, Xin Buqi was still puzzled. Soon, however, he began searching for the person who had caused the disturbance and promised Tang Fu that the club would give him an explanation. Tang Fu had also smashed so much property that he would have to pay compensation.
After asking around, Xin Buqi quickly identified the culprit: Song Kai, the man he had promoted because he could speak English, and the same man who had once been punished with cleaning the toilets for taking petty advantages.
“Where is Song Kai?” Xin Buqi demanded loudly, immediately ordering his people to search for him.
But by then, Song Kai had already slipped down through the secret passage in Yang Tianxiao’s office and quietly left the building.
