Chapter 005: Just Went to the Restroom, Xu Ling Is Yours
In reality, Xie Guotian was the director of the Qingdao Administration for Industry and Commerce. Though Tengyun City was not under Qingdao’s jurisdiction, they were both within the same province. Since Xu Haitian was a businessman, he naturally held Xie Guotian in high regard. Even if Xie Guotian didn’t have much money, in China, officials were always honored guests.
Beside him, Xu Lan seized the chance to praise her son, recounting some of Xie Yu’s remarkable achievements. Xu Ling listened indifferently, paying little attention. At the table, Xu Lan and Xie Yu chatted enthusiastically, as if Xie Yu were already the Xu family’s son-in-law. As for Xu Ling’s parents—the son and daughter-in-law Xu Haitian had called good-for-nothings—they sat quietly, clearly scholarly people, saying nothing and merely smiling along.
No one paid the slightest attention to Song Kai, as though he didn’t exist. Song Kai helped himself to generous portions of meat and vegetables, utterly unmoved by the scorn directed his way.
Before long, Xie Guotian stood up and said, “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom. Please, continue.”
“All right, take your time, Old Xie,” Xu Haitian replied with a touch of obsequiousness.
Watching this, Xie Yu felt triumphant. His mother had been right: Xu Haitian had always been reluctant to let Xu Ling marry him because his father’s position was too low. Now that his father had been promoted to an influential bureau-level post, Xu Haitian’s attitude had obviously changed!
Seeing Xie Guotian leave, Song Kai also stood and walked toward the restroom. Inside, not far away, he found Xie Guotian standing at a urinal, shifting awkwardly.
“Uncle Xie, trouble going?” Song Kai asked quietly with a mischievous grin as he approached.
Xie Guotian shot him an impatient look. “Go play somewhere else.”
Unbothered, Song Kai stood beside him and said, “Actually, problems like always wanting to pee but being unable to are easy to treat. Not only that, but erectile dysfunction and seminal leakage are also quite easy to handle.”
“What did you say?” Xie Guotian was furious, about to pull up his trousers and give up.
“Don’t be hasty, Uncle Xie. Try again,” Song Kai said, pressing firmly on Xie Guotian’s lower back—specifically, the Shenshu acupoint on the Bladder Meridian.
The moment he pressed down, Xie Guotian felt a shiver course through his whole body. Suddenly, an overwhelming urge hit him, and he began urinating in a powerful stream, feeling an almost euphoric relief—he hadn’t felt this good in two months, not even when he was young and chasing women! The stream lasted a full minute.
Afterward, Xie Guotian pulled up his trousers and looked at Song Kai in astonishment, excitement, and even happiness—genuine happiness. Ever since this problem had started, he hadn’t been able to empty his bladder for two months. At its worst, he’d needed a catheter at the hospital.
But now, with a single press on his back from Song Kai, he felt completely cured! It was truly miraculous.
“How did you know I… well, how did you know about my other problems?” Xie Guotian asked, his attitude much improved.
Song Kai replied, “My own father had the same symptoms for a while—ashen complexion, no energy, unable to urinate, impotence, and always losing semen. During that time, my mother constantly called my father useless, saying he was wasting all his ammunition. She mocked him so much he could barely lift his head.”
“That’s exactly it!” Xie Guotian nearly burst into tears at the last part. “Tell me, what man could stand to hear such things? No matter how rich or powerful you are, at home you’re nothing but a wimp; whatever the wife says goes, and you can’t even speak with your back straight. So, what happened to your dad later?”
“He got better,” Song Kai said, making things up as he went along. “He started pressing the same acupoint I just used on you, and took a prescription from an old Chinese doctor. Within three days, he was cured. He left my mother exhausted night after night. Eventually, when he started seeing mistresses, my mother pretended not to notice.”
“Really?” Xie Guotian grabbed Song Kai’s arm in excitement. “That prescription—do you still have it? And that acupoint—can you show me exactly where it is?”
Xie Guotian truly believed him. First, Song Kai had described his symptoms perfectly; second, with just a single press from Song Kai, he’d experienced immediate relief. Clearly, Song Kai was familiar with such ailments.
Song Kai narrowed his eyes, coughed, and said, “Uncle Xie, I’ll give you the prescription and the acupoint, but… well, you know, this dinner is obviously about your son trying to steal my fiancée. I’m a man, too—I can’t just stand by and be cuckolded, right?”
Xie Guotian understood immediately. “Yes, yes, I didn’t think it through earlier. To be honest, I didn’t even want to come tonight. After all, Xu Ling is already engaged; how could we interfere? It’s embarrassing for me. The main problem is my wife—she has her heart set on Xu Ling as our daughter-in-law. And, as you know, I have no authority at home because of my condition. Outside, I might look important, but at home, I’m utterly powerless. That’s why I had no choice but to listen to her.
“But don’t worry, Song Kai. If you can cure me, I’ll be able to stand up to that woman again—I’ll be the head of the household. Xu Ling is yours.”
Song Kai breathed a sigh of relief. “All right, Uncle Xie, let’s exchange numbers. After this dinner, I’ll send you the prescription. Two doses will show results, ten will cure you, and after twenty you’ll be as vigorous as ever—your wife will be left breathless every time.”
Xie Guotian was beside himself with excitement, harboring not the slightest doubt. He immediately gave Song Kai his contact details, then put his arm around Song Kai’s shoulders. “Come on, watch how I handle things from here.”
Soon, Xie Guotian returned to the dining room with his arm around Song Kai, the two looking like a close father and son.
At the table, Xu Ling and Xu Haitian were dumbfounded. Xu Lan and Xie Yu gaped in shock, unable to make sense of what was happening.
Xie Guotian sat down and chuckled, “I just ran into young Song Kai in the restroom and had a chat. Cousin, I have to say, you’ve truly found yourself an excellent grandson-in-law—knowledgeable, talented, insightful, and courageous. My son may be well-educated, but compared to Song Kai, he still falls short.”
The moment he said this, everyone at the table was stupefied.
What was going on? They’d just gone to the restroom together, and Song Kai had already managed to win over an adversary!
Xu Haitian and Xu Ling were utterly at a loss, and Xu Lan could no longer contain herself. She slapped Xie Guotian on the shoulder. “You old fool, what are you saying? Have you lost your mind? I’m telling you, Xu Ling is our Xie family’s daughter-in-law. If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll deal with you myself!”
“Shut up! Mind your manners!” Xie Guotian suddenly raised his voice. He was, after all, a bureau director with decades of officialdom behind him; his authority immediately cowed Xu Lan.
“They’re already engaged, yet you dragged me here to interfere—where’s my dignity? If my subordinates or superiors ever found out I broke a promise and tried to steal someone’s fiancée, what would they think of me?” Xie Guotian glared at Xu Lan.
She didn’t dare utter another word.
Xie Guotian snorted, then turned to Xu Haitian. “Cousin, I’m sorry, but I have to return to Qingdao for official business. You all enjoy your meal—we’ll be heading off.” With that, he stood up, grabbed Xu Lan, and said, “Come on, woman! One more word out of you and I’ll divorce you on the spot!”
Xu Lan was completely cowed and could only get up silently.
“Mom!” Xie Yu was stunned. How could it end like this? Xu Ling was such a beautiful woman—long-legged and well-endowed. He had to marry her! Even if things weren’t settled today, he should at least try to befriend her in hopes of another chance.
Xu Lan waved at Xie Yu to silence him. Now that Xie Guotian was angry, she dared not provoke him.
Xie Yu pouted, but knew there was nothing more to be done tonight. Still, he was determined not to give up on Xu Ling.
The Xie family trio left the table.
In the private room, Xu Haitian sat there in a daze, his face burning with shame...
