Chapter 94: The Entire World Was Stunned
The heavy rain outside the car made it impossible to see the road conditions even ten meters ahead. André slowed down, carefully navigating a section of the road that was narrow, winding, and uneven. Yet the Raptor showed no sign of deceleration. A few meters away, the racing car bounced as it turned, but the Raptor suddenly charged forward without hesitation. In an instant, Yang Changfeng’s disdainful smirk appeared on the big screen.
The stands erupted in astonishment—how could anyone recognize the sound of André altering his speed? Almost simultaneously, a unified gasp echoed from the crowd.
They saw Yang Changfeng deftly maneuvering the steering wheel with one hand while controlling two brake pedals with his feet. He lightly tapped the front wheel brake, then quickly pressed the rear brake hard.
At the same time, this madman—he actually took a phone out of his pocket. Someone was calling, and he intended to answer it. His fingers searched for the answer button on the phone. The female manager lost control and cursed, “Insane! This lunatic is actually trying to find the answer key!”
Before her curse was half-finished, everyone saw the Raptor lift off the ground in the downpour, seemingly about to plunge headfirst off a cliff barely three meters from the edge of the road. But then, the outer front wheel touched down first, and using that wheel as an axis, the Raptor spun crazily half a turn in the rain, narrowly grazing the concrete post by the roadside and swinging the rear of the car wildly around.
The Raptor was utterly reckless!
On the opposite side, the star racers were shaken to their core, muttering instinctively, “Madman, this guy is a madman.”
No one could believe what they were witnessing. Sun Zhaoxing was speechless. Damn, this was the real kingpin—the only person capable of such reckless danger done blindfolded and while answering a phone call! From this moment on, in the world of racing, there was only one kingpin. No world champion, no cup winner could command Sun Zhaoxing’s admiration except this kingpin—and there never would be another.
And this wasn’t even the most spectacular moment yet.
The next second, perhaps a blink missed the most thrilling instant.
The Raptor completed a perfect 180-degree spin, flawlessly navigating the narrow bend. Then, no—at the moment it landed, the Raptor shifted into reverse midair, roaring as it hurtled backward down the slope ahead.
The front was a steep V-shaped incline—the most twisted part of the course.
This sudden drop was actually the overtaking zone, but the space for overtaking was limited to a rectangular patch no longer than three meters and only seven to eight meters wide at the bottom of the slope. Here, racers could surpass the cars ahead.
The Raptor, now retreating down the slope, was less than three meters from the bottom. The incline was nearly ten meters tall, making overtaking seem impossible.
Yang Changfeng had no intention of being forgotten by spectators; he was determined to forge the legend of the kingpin right at this moment.
As the car reversed, just as Yang Changfeng pressed the rear brake again, the Raptor spun once more, using the rear right wheel as a pivot and the slope’s terrain to rotate another 180 degrees clockwise, completing a perfect circle with the previous spin.
The Raptor calmly brushed past the rear wheels of the other car, then stopped precisely on the narrow overtaking patch. The engine showed no signs of stopping. Those two violent spins had been executed purely through speed and momentum, seemingly brutal to the car but in fact causing no damage whatsoever. This driving skill terrified André, who glanced briefly in the rearview mirror, his heart pounding. The kingpin had never stopped advancing—once a maniac, now a god beyond reckoning.
How had he done it?
Unfortunately, André couldn’t see what Yang Changfeng was about to do next, or else he would have immediately stopped the car. No matter the reason, he wouldn’t have continued the race.
Yang Changfeng released the brake but did not touch the accelerator. In less than a second, he slammed the steering wheel hard, and the car lifted off the ground again. As the rear wheels left the surface, he counter-steered sharply. In that moment, the car executed a graceful and commanding ninety-degree turn, climbing the steep incline. Using the force transmitted from the ground to the rear wheels as they left the surface, the car realigned perfectly with the straight path ahead.
This moment seemed long but actually took no more than five seconds from the first brake tap to now. The Raptor, which had never stopped accelerating, was traveling twice as fast as the other car. Within half a second, it had gained nearly three meters of distance, and a full second later, ten meters separated the two vehicles, instantly reversing their positions.
At that moment, Yang Changfeng answered the phone.
“Who’s this?” His tone betrayed no hint of nervousness.
A familiar voice came through the line. Yang asked, “Boss, I have something important to report. Oh, this is Zhang Baode from the Security Department.”
Ah, it was Brother Xi!
Yang Changfeng immediately smiled and said, “Old Zhang, what’s so urgent? Maybe tomorrow… or when we have time later?”
Zhang Baode replied seriously, “Boss, it’s really important. I think you’re with the boss, right? If I don’t say it today, it might never be said.”
Yang Changfeng laughed, “Old Zhang, you have good eyes. Alright, wait a moment. I’ll pass the phone to Chen Aijia. Just tell him directly.”
Zhang Baode breathed a sigh of relief, resolute now, no longer hesitating. “Boss, I have evidence of their wrongdoing, which I secretly collected. It’s hidden next to the water tank on the office building’s roof, near the pile of PC pipes. Also, they’ll try to do something bad again today. If you go now, you’ll definitely catch them. That’s all I have to say.”
Yang Changfeng chuckled, “Old Zhang, you’re thoughtful. Got it. Go to work tomorrow with confidence. I promise your efforts won’t be in vain, and they’ll make a big difference. Don’t worry, I won’t let a fourth person know about this. We’ll talk at the company tomorrow.”
Zhang Baode joked with a smile, “That won’t do. My wife already knows, so now four people know.”
Yang Changfeng laughed and scolded, “Alright, the military medal is half hers too. Get some rest. I know what to do. Consider today’s events a distraction. Don’t worry.”
Zhang Baode was completely reassured. His hard work had not been in vain. That feeling—how to say it? It was truly wonderful.
