Chapter 125: The Magical Artifact Workshop, True Immortals Determine the Ninth Grade (Third Update)

The Hot Witch Elder’s invitation was now so nakedly obvious that if Luo Zu continued pretending to be dead, he would truly be showing himself ungrateful.
But who was Luo Zu? What harm could there be in continuing to play dead?
What could these two Hot Witch elders possibly do to him?
Although the two floating islands suspended above Mount Luo were vast enough to blot out the sky and sun, radiating a suffocating pressure, in Luo Zu’s eyes they were inferior even to that single cloud of the demon race.
Besides, the crisis facing the Hot Witch Tribe had not yet been resolved. More precisely, the entire shaman race of Great Yi Territory was in serious danger. After all, the Demon Celestial Court had set its sights on this place and was already making a great show of force.
This war would be a protracted one.
Of course, it might also end very quickly. If the Great Shaman of Great Yi Territory proved capable enough to annihilate that demon god outright, the war would veer toward the opposite extreme: the shamans and demons would enter an all-out war. That would certainly make things even more interesting.
No—that was not precise enough. The entire Primordial Wilderness would descend into chaos, perhaps even giving rise to a calamity that swept across the whole land.
Luo Zu could almost see the legendary Gonggong crashing into Mount Buzhou and toppling it.
If such a thing truly happened, Luo Zu even wondered whether he would survive.
The Celestial River pouring down from above would certainly not consist of ordinary water. With the heavens collapsing as well, he had no idea how he was supposed to die when the time came.
Yet even after considering all this, Luo Zu still had no intention of joining the Hot Witch Tribe. Forming an alliance with them, however, was entirely possible.
“Mutual allies?” the Hot Witch Elder mused.
“Our tribe, like the shamans, consists entirely of cultivators. We also possess ample experience in smelting iron—thanks to Iron Mountain Village—and our innate divine abilities are well suited to the craft. We can help the Hot Witch Tribe forge Hot Witch Swords and Flame-Erasing Arrows,” Luo Zu said with a smile.
He was doing his utmost to turn the Cavemen Tribe into a logistical ally of the Hot Witch Tribe, absolutely refusing to fight on the front lines and become cannon fodder in the struggle between shamans and demons.
After the two Hot Witch elders exchanged glances, hesitation still lingered in their eyes.
“Why don’t I discuss the matter with our chieftain?” the Hot Witch Elder said, no longer concealing the person behind him.
He believed that Luo Zu was wise enough to see why he was doing this, so there was no need to hide it.
Luo Zu nodded. “Please do.”
The Hot Witch Elder named Bone formed a hand seal on the spot, then pointed at the ground.
Luo Zu immediately sensed a strange aura moving through the earth veins beneath his feet before vanishing at great speed.
Was this the shaman race’s method of long-distance communication?

Before long, Luo Zu heard the Hot Witch Elder before him give his reply.
“The chieftain says it is acceptable.” All seven of his vertical pupils blinked.
Nothing could be discerned from his expression regarding his current emotions.
Tang had said that Elder Bone had lived for thirty-eight thousand years. During that time, he had spent only eight thousand years in prolonged slumber; for the rest, he had remained active. Clearly, the elder possessed a great many thoughts and schemes.
“Very well, then… I look forward to our cooperation,” Luo Zu said, taking the initiative.
“Then let us draw up an alliance treaty,” Elder Bone replied.
Just as Luo Zu had expected, Elder Bone would never trust a verbal agreement. He still intended to establish a formal contract with Luo Zu.
And the contract he produced was one witnessed by the Great Dao.
Such a contract was bound to the Great Dao itself. Should anyone violate it, they would suffer the Great Dao’s backlash. Their cultivation path would be beset by countless difficulties; tribulations of lightning and fire would become frequent, and their power would increase dramatically. When every kind of calamity descended at once, even a Golden Immortal would suffer.
Nevertheless, Luo Zu signed the Great Dao agreement. While doing so, he also learned how to establish one himself.
This sort of method could only be developed once a transcendent civilization had reached a certain level of advancement. It was not something one could invent on a sudden whim.
After the alliance was signed, Elder Bone’s goodwill became visibly stronger.
He presented Luo Zu with the True Immortal-grade Hot Witch Sword.
Luo Zu was thoroughly satisfied with such a display of goodwill.
“The demon race will surely be driven from the Primordial Wilderness, and the shaman race will surely rule the earth. There is only one sun in my heart.”
Upon hearing this flattery, Elder Bone beamed with delight—or rather, all seven of his eyes beamed with delight.
“We have always been working toward that very goal.”
He then brought up an old matter.
“In ancient times, the Ancestral Shamans and the Demon Celestial Emperor reached an agreement: the demons would rule the heavens, while the shamans would rule the earth. Yet the demons broke their word and violated the pact. Using the birth of new life on the earth as an excuse, they forcibly left behind countless descendants of sin. They even set demonic arts upon the sun, moon, and stars, allowing the light emitted by the lunar and solar bodies to influence the intelligence of the beasts upon the earth. They concealed the demons’ cultivation methods within the radiance of the sun and moon as well. That is why the shamans and demons now coexist across the Primordial Wilderness, instead of the earth belonging to us shamans. Truly despicable.”
Luo Zu likewise denounced the demon race for lacking honor and for breaking its promises.
But he did not dare join Elder Bone in cursing the Demon Celestial Emperor as a vile wretch.
After their curses were spent and the matter settled, the two shaman elders began discussing with Luo Zu their experience fighting the demon race. They also spoke at length about the shaman cultivation methods.
They were still trying to draw him closer.

Luo Zu could tell that they genuinely wanted to pull him aboard the shaman war chariot.
“Our tribe actually has quite a few True Immortal allies,” Elder Bone said.
Indeed, they had quite a few. The Hot Witch Tribe itself possessed ten shaman warriors, while its True Immortal allies numbered thirteen. Before the Vengeful Pheasant Demon Tribe’s sneak attack, they had possessed as many as twenty-nine True Immortal allies.
Yet all of them together had still been unable to stand against a single Heavenly Immortal from the Vengeful Pheasant Tribe.
The gulf between a Heavenly Immortal and a True Immortal was a natural chasm, even greater than the gap between a False Immortal and a True Immortal.
That was precisely why, upon becoming a Heavenly Immortal, Vengeful Pheasant had been able to defeat the Hot Witch Tribe, which had held him at bay for more than ten thousand years. He had even slain a ninth-rank shaman warrior.
The two Hot Witch elders still had plenty of matters to attend to. Guiding their people in production was their foremost duty, and they had to remain with the tribe. Thus, after exchanging a few more idle words with Luo Zu, they departed Mount Luo Township with the two floating islands and their shaman people.
Before leaving, Elder Bone spoke to Luo Zu in particular.
“In a few days, I will send people to deliver the artifact-forging blueprints, along with the necessary materials. I hope Chief Luo will produce them according to our agreement.”
The agreement Elder Bone referred to concerned the rate of finished products.
At the beginning, the completion rate had to reach sixty percent. Once they became proficient, it had to be maintained at ninety percent.
Luo Zu had no objection whatsoever.
His primary intention was to use this opportunity to study the shaman race’s advanced artifact-forging techniques, especially their assembly-line methods. They could even divide the work among multiple craftsmen.
Clearly, the shamans’ experience in artifact forging had surpassed that of humanity several times over.
Humanity could not even see the taillights of their carts.
In the days that followed, Luo Zu tortured the demon immortal Jing while studying demonic arts and guiding his people in cultivation.
He also had to deduce how to expand the human world and earth within the universe in a pot. This time, the expansion would begin from the center of the land rather than slowly growing outward from the edges.
That would place an even greater demand on Luo Zu’s powers of deduction.
Among all the matters at hand, the one whose result he obtained most quickly concerned the future path of his own cultivation.
Based on the cultivation methods of both demons and shamans, he divided the path leading to the True Immortal realm in the Qi Refining Method into nine grades.
There will be another chapter, though it may be posted somewhat late.
