“Hello, is this Zhan Peng? Do you know Wang Qi’s father? Have you ever had a meal with him?”

Hong Yu got straight to the point as soon as the call connected.

On the other end, Liang Zhanpeng was in the middle of a conversation and was caught off guard by Hong Yu’s sudden call.

Hong Yu had already put the call on speaker.

“Wang Qi? Who’s Wang Qi? Young master, is he the key person related to what I mentioned earlier today?”

Liang Zhanpeng was clearly overthinking, but Hong Yu chuckled and said, “Don’t overcomplicate things. This Wang Qi is pretty arrogant. He claims his father had dinner with you. I just want to confirm if that’s true.”

Liang Zhanpeng sounded a bit confused. “Young master, I have meals with many people throughout the year. Can you tell me his father’s name?”

Hong Yu thought for a moment but couldn’t recall Wang Qi’s father’s name. He said, “I’m not quite sure about the name, but I think he’s in real estate. Yes, it’s called Wang Real Estate. Does that ring a bell?”

Hong Yu smiled and handed the phone to Wang Qi.

At first, Wang Qi wasn’t sure who Hong Yu had called. The name Zhanpeng sounded somewhat familiar to him.

Chen Yingying quickly reacted, grabbed Wang Qi, and nervously explained the situation.

However, Wang Qi clearly didn’t believe Hong Yu had Liang Zhanpeng’s number. Besides, Liang Zhanpeng had just called Hong Yu “young master.”

Wang Qi took the phone and sneered at Hong Yu, “Hey, this is ridiculous. You’ve been gone so long just to find someone to be your stooge?”

“You... you all!” Liang Zhanpeng was too humiliated to respond, utterly speechless.

Chen Yingying continued to curse a bit before tossing the phone back to Hong Yu with disdain.

“This lousy phone is dirtying my hands!” she complained.

Hong Yu sighed helplessly into the phone, “Zhanpeng, I have no choice. Did you hear how arrogant these people are?”

“Yes, young master, I heard everything,” Liang Zhanpeng’s voice was low and steady. “Don’t worry, none of them will get away.”

“Alright.” Hong Yu hung up. Chen Yingying sneered, “What? Can’t keep up the act anymore?”

Wang Qi glanced at Lin Shuyu. “Xiaoyu, don’t you feel ashamed? With a husband like this, you’ll never raise your head in life. Haven’t you considered divorce?”

Lin Shuyu frowned. Hong Yu snapped, “What the hell do you mean? If you ever call me by my wife’s name again, just try and see what happens.”

Wang Qi laughed. “Come on, I’m right here. If you’ve got the guts, do it!”

Knowing Hong Yu’s temper, Lin Shuyu quickly grabbed him and said, “Enough, enough. It’s just a name. Let him call you whatever he wants.”

Hong Yu was displeased but, seeing Lin Shuyu’s insistence, reluctantly nodded.

It was already past nine in the evening. Hong Yu intended to go inside, shower, and rest.

But just as he was about to enter, Chen Yingying and Wang Qi blocked the doorway.

Chen Yingying sneered, “What do you think you’re doing? Did you ask me if you could come in?”

Hong Yu frowned. “What do you mean? We came all the way to Huaizhou to celebrate our grandfather’s birthday. Do you chase away relatives like this?”

Chen Yingying looked astonished. “Wow, you really have some nerve! I welcome my sister, but who do you think you are? Letting you in once was already giving you face. Now you want to stay here overnight?”

“I don’t have many guest rooms. Do you want to share a room with my sister?”

Lin Shuyu frowned. “Yingying, what do you mean? You still have two empty guest rooms. Hong Yu came specially—do you think that’s fair?”

Chen Yingying snapped, “Sis, why are you defending Hong Yu at a time like this? We just got two diamond jewelry pieces at the auction today. If Hong Yu stayed here, you don’t want me to sleep, do you?”

Wang Qi sneered nearby. “Still refusing to leave?”

After saying that, Wang Qi threw the money at Hong Yu.
