Chapter Sixty-Nine: Watching a Movie
The next morning, Anhe slowly opened his eyes and stared blankly at the slightly unfamiliar ceiling before finally sitting up from the sofa.
Everyone must take responsibility for their mistakes, and he was no exception.
Last night, after discovering that his white stockings had inexplicably become someone else's, Anhe's punishment from Sawu Amamiya was a ban from entering the bedroom.
Perhaps it was because he hadn't slept on the sofa in a long time, but after just one night, his waist felt as if it was about to fall apart, aching unbearably.
He got off the sofa, supporting his back as he shuffled to the bedroom door.
The door was still tightly shut, and there was no sound from within. It seemed Sawu Amamiya was still asleep.
After a moment's hesitation, Anhe dropped his hand that was about to knock and turned to the bathroom to wash up.
Once he had taken care of his hygiene, Anhe went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Two bowls of udon noodles and two poached eggs were soon placed on the table, just as the clock struck seven.
Right then, the bedroom door opened, and Sawu Amamiya, her hair slightly tousled, walked out.
She was wearing Anhe's old, oversized T-shirt as a top, and seemingly nothing on her lower half. Her long, fair legs were fully exposed.
"Good morning, Sawu-chan!" Anhe greeted cheerfully, but Sawu Amamiya only cast him a cool glance and walked into the bathroom without a word.
[A real man, born between heaven and earth, should not be subdued for long! She already sees herself as the mistress of the house, but you, my host, when will you act like the master? There are fifty minutes before class, twenty for travel, and you plan to waste the remaining thirty? Now, go in there and show her who's in charge! Let her see who really rules this house!]
Thirty minutes is enough? Anhe was quite dissatisfied with the narrator's underestimation, but looking at the closed bathroom door, he was at a loss for what to do.
Maybe he should take Sawu to the movies today?
The idea suddenly lit up Anhe's eyes.
It seemed he'd never really gone on a proper date with Sawu, not even a serious confession. Today might be the perfect opportunity...
As he was thinking this, the bathroom door suddenly opened, and a delicate hand shot out and dragged him in before he could react.
"What are you—mmph—"
The soft sensation on his lips made Anhe swallow the words he'd been about to say.
Sawu Amamiya seemed to like expressing her emotions through kisses.
With the practice she'd had with Anhe recently, her kissing skills had matured. No longer the clumsy, awkward attempts at the beginning, her kisses now wound around him like a snake, teasing, even sucking...
A few minutes later.
When they finally parted, Sawu Amamiya's usually calm eyes were now misted with emotion, and her ample chest rose and fell with each breath.
"Alright," she whispered, gently pushing Anhe away and wiping the moisture from her lips. "You can go out now. I'm not angry anymore."
"Really?" Anhe's eyes lit up, and he made as if to hug her, but she pressed a hand to his chest.
Seeing his questioning look, Sawu Amamiya turned her head away, her neck flushing red as she unconsciously crossed and rubbed her legs, her voice tinged with urgency.
"Go out first. I need to use the bathroom."
…
Anhe wanted to offer his help, but considering he might end up on the sofa again tonight, he wisely held his tongue.
He changed his clothes after leaving the bathroom, and brought along the tube top that belonged to Rena Serizawa.
By the time he came out, Sawu Amamiya was already sitting in the living room.
After a simple breakfast together, they left the house.
During this time, Anhe didn't mention his plans for after school, intending to surprise her.
Yesterday, because he came home early, he had taken the motorcycle he bought from Nobue Ito to a nearby gas station, so today they didn't have to squeeze onto the train with the office workers.
He dropped Sawu Amamiya off at Kita Academy, found a nearby parking lot for the bike, and then strolled leisurely to his own school.
When he arrived in class, Rena Serizawa was absent.
He also noticed that Keiko Kitajima, who usually stuck to him, was much colder today. She only greeted him briefly and said nothing more.
Anhe was happy to enjoy the peace.
The day's classes passed quickly, and as soon as school was over, Anhe was the first out the door.
He arrived at the gate of Kita Academy. After waiting a short while, Sawu Amamiya appeared in the stream of students leaving the campus. Spotting Anhe, she walked over to him.
As she approached, Anhe reached out his hand, and when Sawu Amamiya took it, he pulled her onto the bike.
"How was your day at school?"
"Pretty boring," replied Sawu Amamiya, taking the helmet Anhe handed her and putting it on. Because she was wearing a skirt, she sat sideways, which meant she had to put her arms around Anhe's waist from behind.
Of course, with the state of their relationship, neither minded such closeness.
The motorcycle wove through the traffic, but before long, Sawu Amamiya noticed they weren't heading home. Still, she didn't ask any questions.
After some time, they pulled up in front of a movie theater.
Staring at the massive poster for "Spirited Away," Sawu Amamiya was momentarily stunned.
This was her first time at a cinema; she had only ever heard her sister and classmates talk about the experience.
Seeing the anticipation in her eyes, Anhe softly asked, "So, do you want to go in and watch?"
Hearing this, Sawu Amamiya turned to him and nodded vigorously.
"Let's go," Anhe smiled, reaching out his hand. When Sawu Amamiya took it, they entered the theater together.
Anhe had bought the tickets earlier during his lunch break. He'd originally planned to get tickets for a horror film, but when he saw "Spirited Away" playing, nostalgia for his childhood made him choose that instead.
It was clear that Sawu Amamiya loved the film. From the moment the screen lit up, she couldn't take her eyes off it, even letting out small gasps at the exciting parts.
Watching her excitement and the way her delicate features were softly illuminated by the screen, Anhe couldn't help but smile and entwined his fingers with hers.
The film's 125 minutes passed quickly, and it was only when the credits rolled that Sawu Amamiya reluctantly tore her gaze from the screen.
Noticing her wistfulness, Anhe's eyes glinted mischievously as he leaned in to whisper, "If you haven't had enough, we can watch another one. The next movie is supposed to be really good too."
"Really?" Sawu Amamiya sounded excited.
Anhe nodded with a mysterious smile.
Half an hour later.
When the words "My Kindhearted Aunt" appeared on the screen, Sawu Amamiya instantly regretted agreeing to Anhe's obviously dubious suggestion.
Her regret, however, was short-lived, as Anhe's large hand was already settling on her thigh...
