Chapter 13: The School Beauty Is Actually the Campus Tyrant
“Class is about to start. Please hand in your homework to me as soon as possible.”
Lu Yiqi turned around, took her homework out of her bag, and glanced at Xie Xu, who was still sprawled on the desk, deep in sleep. She hesitated for a moment but decided to remind him about the homework.
She reached out and gently poked Xie Xu. “Hey.”
Xie Xu, sensing the movement, looked up. “What is it?”
Before Lu Yiqi could respond, Xie Xu continued, “Didn’t I tell you yesterday? Don’t talk to me unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
Damn it.
She must be out of her mind to remind Xie Xu about his homework.
Forget it. In the spirit of generosity—especially since he’d paid for her breakfast this morning—she decided to let it slide. “I just wanted to remind you to hand in your homework.”
A glimmer flickered in Xie Xu’s deep eyes. “So concerned about me? Worried I’ll get scolded by the teacher for not handing it in? Have you fallen for me? I’m warning you, don’t bother—nothing will come of it.”
“I have not!” Lu Yiqi retorted emphatically.
Xie Xu suppressed a laugh. “Alright.”
He pulled his homework from the desk drawer and handed it to Lu Yiqi. “My little shadow, hand it in for me.”
“Don’t call me your little shadow!”
Xie Xu paused for two seconds, then said, “Fine. I’ll call you Little Pig from now on.”
“What?”
“One can tell at a glance you’re not all that bright—dull as a pig.”
“What?”
“And you kind of look like a pig, too. Round face, plenty of meat.”
“What?”
Calling her stupid was one thing, but calling her chubby was crossing a line!
Lu Yiqi immediately protested, “Where is my face round or chubby? This is clearly an oval face! Do you know what an oval face is? It’s the most perfect shape!”
“I have no idea,” Xie Xu answered bluntly.
Lu Yiqi was lost for words.
“If you don’t hurry, the class monitor will take the homework and leave.”
Unable to argue further, Lu Yiqi huffed, turned away, placed her homework on top of Xie Xu’s, and handed them both to the class monitor. After returning to her seat, she didn’t spare Xie Xu another glance.
She thought the day would pass uneventfully, but as soon as the lunch break began, she found herself cornered on her way to the restroom.
Lu Yiqi was utterly bewildered. This was only her second day at school. She’d been nothing but studious and well-behaved, hadn’t offended anyone. How could she get into trouble just by going to the bathroom?
Of course—meeting Xie Xu was the start of all her misfortune.
She wondered: if the other party made the first move and she fought back, would it still count as intentional harm? No, that would be legitimate self-defense.
But for now, she had no choice but to wait and see.
Soon, a new character made her entrance.
Lu Yiqi looked closely—what a coincidence. Wasn’t this Xia Jing’an, the very subject of today’s heated forum debates?
Xia Jing’an’s gaze was anything but friendly. Lu Yiqi found it baffling. She didn’t even know Xia Jing’an. Why would she block her way? Was she just bored and looking for trouble?
Or perhaps the campus beauty was actually a secret bully, shaking down timid female classmates for protection money at the restroom door?
No, that couldn’t be. The heiress of the Xia Corporation surely wasn’t strapped for cash.
Before Lu Yiqi could finish her analysis, Xia Jing’an raised her phone and held it up to Lu Yiqi’s face.
Lu Yiqi glanced at the screen. Wasn’t this the video of Xia Jing’an getting rejected?
Why show her this?
The next moment, Xia Jing’an spoke coldly. “You were the one who filmed this, weren’t you?”
What?
“Delete the video immediately.”
