Xie Xu said, “What if we manage to do it?”

“Then I’ll apologize to Lu,” came the reply.

“Alright, remember what you said today. Within three days, I’ll bring you the evidence,” Xie Xu declared, then took Lu Yiqi with him and left.

Instead of heading straight back to the classroom, Xie Xu led Lu Yiqi up to the rooftop of the academic building.

“Why did you bring me here?” Lu Yiqi asked.

“There’s no one here,” Xie Xu replied coolly. “Now, tell me, what’s going on?”

Lu Yiqi pressed her lips together. “It’s that Xia Jing’an again. She cornered me outside the bathroom and accused me of filming the video where you rejected her confession and posting it online. She claims it affected her reputation.”

Xie Xu frowned. “When did she ever confess to me?”

“It was yesterday, when you saw me for the first time,” Lu Yiqi said in surprise. “Seriously? Is your memory really that bad?”

“...” Xie Xu thought hard. When he first met Lu Yiqi yesterday, there had indeed been someone confessing to him, but he hadn’t paid attention to who it was. Now that he recalled, he responded rather perfunctorily, “No, I just remembered.”

Lu Yiqi was speechless. The wolfish nature never changed.

Xie Xu continued, “She said she has evidence. What’s this so-called evidence she’s using to accuse you?”

Lu Yiqi recounted Xia Jing’an’s claims in detail.

When Xie Xu finished listening, he gave a cold laugh. “She calls that evidence? Just checking some surveillance footage and comparing camera angles?”

“Uh...”

“Leave this to me. You just wait for her apology.”

Lu Yiqi glanced up at Xie Xu instinctively. His finely chiseled features were as if God had sculpted him with utmost care. She found herself staring, her impression of him subtly shifting.

She wasn’t sure if this change came from his looks or from that almost divine declaration of his earlier—“You want evidence? Fine, I’ll get it for you.”

Either way, it felt different from before.

She stared blankly. “So, what do we do now?”

“Silly. We go eat, of course.”

“Aren’t we going to look for evidence?”

“Are you a pig? Does evidence grow legs and run away?”

“...” Well, that made sense. She decided to trust Xie Xu and focus on lunch.

She didn’t know why, but she believed Xie Xu would handle everything for her.

On the way to eat, Xie Xu asked, “What do you like? Spicy or sweet?”

“I like both!”

Since it was lunchtime, Xie Xu took Lu Yiqi out for clay pot rice.

After finishing half a bowl, Lu Yiqi sighed, “Oh no, I feel like I’m going to gain weight now that I’ve moved to N City.”

“Pig.”

Lu Yiqi was speechless.

She endured it.

After finishing the last half bowl, she suddenly felt thirsty. “I want bubble tea.”

Xie Xu spoke slowly, “Bubble tea is high in sugar, fat, and calories. The creamer is mostly made from coconut oil, which is full of saturated fatty acids. These increase cholesterol, make blood fat skyrocket, and cause hardening of the arteries… In summary, drinking bubble tea often leads easily to obesity, worsens hypertension, and can trigger osteoporosis.”

Lu Yiqi listened patiently, then smiled, “So, are we going or not?”

“...”

Three minutes later, Lu Yiqi and Xie Xu appeared inside a bubble tea shop.

Lu Yiqi asked, “Do you want some? My treat.”

“No.” Not drinking bubble tea was his final line of defense.
