When Xie Xu said he didn’t want any, Lu Yiqi went to order her own milk tea.

“Hello, I’d like a cup of boba green milk tea, thank you.”

After placing her order, she turned back to Xie Xu and asked again, “Are you sure you don’t want one?”

Xie Xu shook his head decisively.

A few minutes later, Lu Yiqi held her milk tea in both hands, took a few sips, and squinted her eyes in contentment.

As the saying goes, women are made of milk tea.

Watching Lu Yiqi drink her milk tea so happily, Xie Xu’s attractive Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.

He tried to sound casual, “This milk tea... looks pretty good, doesn’t it?”

“Of course! I’m telling you, I’m practically an expert when it comes to milk tea! This boba green milk tea is absolutely amazing.”

“Really?”

“Really.” After replying, Lu Yiqi suddenly remembered something.

The man who had so firmly refused milk tea just now was now hesitating, asking questions left and right. “No way, did you change your mind and decide you want some now?”

Xie Xu answered with absolutely no guilt, “Is there a problem? Who says only girls can drink milk tea and guys can’t? Besides, you just offered to buy me one.”

Lu Yiqi ultimately swallowed back the words, “But you turned me down twice just now, and so decisively.”

Guys, she thought, care about saving face; they don’t like being contradicted in public. She understood.

“Alright, then. What do you want? Need any recommendations?”

“I’ll have the same as you.”

“Okay, wait here for a few minutes.”

A few minutes later, Xie Xu was standing there with the same milk tea as Lu Yiqi. He took a symbolic sip or two—it was much too sweet and cloying.

“Do you think this milk tea is sweet?”

“Of course! If it isn’t sweet, why would it be called milk tea?”

“But don’t you get tired of drinking something so sweet?”

Lu Yiqi looked genuinely puzzled. “How could I? There are so many kinds of milk tea. Even if I get tired of this one, there are plenty of others to try.”

Xie Xu frowned deeply.

Why did all girls love these overwhelmingly sweet drinks? And not only love them, but never get tired of them? The ever-pragmatic Xie Xu simply couldn’t figure it out.

When they returned to the classroom, it was almost empty—everyone else was probably still out to eat.

Xie Xu thought for a moment. “About that video earlier—what was it all about? Can you find it and show me?”

“It’s on the campus forum. If you open the forum, it should be trending.”

Xie Xu glanced at his phone, which was almost fully charged, then pressed and held the power button. With a perfectly straight face, he lied, “My phone’s out of battery. See for yourself.”

He pressed the phone for Lu Yiqi to see; the screen was completely black, as if it really were dead.

Lu Yiqi didn’t suspect a thing. She unlocked her own phone and pulled up the video for Xie Xu. “Here, this is the one.”

Xie Xu leaned in close, so close they could feel each other’s breath on their faces. Lu Yiqi tensed up, sneaking a glance at him from under her lashes.

His features were exquisitely carved, as if shaped by the hands of a master—clear-cut and strikingly handsome. His eyes, dark and deep as pools, were fixed intently... on the video on her phone.

Lu Yiqi felt the onset of secondhand embarrassment. Here he was, focused on helping her solve a problem and look for evidence, while she—what was she doing daydreaming?

She gave her head a little shake, trying to focus on the video as well, but while her mind told her to pay attention, her gaze kept drifting to Xie Xu.

So good-looking... such fair skin... those lashes so long...
